Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Best golf
Great value, Fast greens,
Walking or riding is good
Very good corse to play!!!!!
Good value, respectable Muni course
This was the first time playing here and I was able to get a great tee-time last minute. I took my son who is an intermediate golfer and it was a fun round. The fairways and greens are nice, well kept. The greens ran quick and true. Out of the fairway the ground is a mix of soft dry grass and hard North Texas clay!
We were well warned that the greens were fast. I would not say they were fast, they were true. It took a couple holes to make the read but all-in-all they stayed true I had a putting average of 1.72 and the greens were very receptive on the approach shots. I also had another 3 or 4 putts that just lipped out. Certainly the greens are the highlight of this course. The other highlight was the Pace! They had Marshall’s all over the course moving groups along. We were held up a bit on the front 9 but still finished the front in just over 2hrs on a Saturday, which is almost unheard of in the DFW! At the turn one of the Marshals let us know that there was a group several holes ahead of us that had been warned twice and were going to be asked to skip a hole next time. I guess they figured it out because we did finish the back in just under 2 hours but still had to wait a little. All that to say if Pace is really important to you this is the course for you! However , if you are the kind that wants to spend all day on the course drinking beers, or you and your buddies are playing stroke play for money and you don’t want a Marshall clocking you every few holes… you might ought to look elsewhere. Also, if you do not have a complete 4-some, expect to to have players added to your group. They do a good job of loading up every group and getting you out there on time!
Overall, it was a decent track and a great round.
Plenty of time to finish and they wouldn’t let us
Make sure you have your teatime by 1 o’clock. I didn’t have to be in at 5:15 and probably before then I’ll probably have to be at 5 o’clock soon. It is now 531 and they wouldn’t let us finish. There’s plenty of daylight to finish 18. absolutely ridiculous probably will never come back.
Plenty of time to finish, but didn’t let us
Golf carts have to be in at 5:15 so make sure you make your teatime by 1 o’clock at the latest. We had plenty of time to finish 18 and they wouldn’t let us let us go in absolutely ridiculous. Plenty of daylight still at 5:28.
Great Golf Course
Great condition excellent greens fair price friendly staff Beautiful scenery New golf carts Manager meets and greets players
Love The Course Tim KOSCINSKI
PS Clean well supplies restrooms
Challenging layout and difficult greens
It is a great muni course with challenging layout and fast/difficult greens. I love the course. After a long and dry summer, the fairways are not in a good shape ( with cracks in many places). But the green conditions are kept perfect. I will definitely go back to play again.
Awful Fairways
The fairways were burned out and dry with a lot of bare spots .. The greens were in fast and in good shape
A little slow
We typically play a round of golf here in about 3 and half hours. Yesterday was a 4 and a half hour round. The place was really stacked up.
