Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Great course, great greens
It's a fun track with a good mix of long and straight, and holes that require you to hit some shots.
I can't stress how perfect the greens are; fast and true.
The facilities aren't cutting edge but the course itself is in great shape and a lot of fun to play.
Will definitely make sure this course is in my normal rotation.
Best course in Dallas.
Rained all day but still just a pleasure to play this course. Score well here and you can play anywhere. Greens are just awesome!
Pleasant surprise
Some of the best greens in DFW. Stay underneath the hole! Fair and fun! Give it a try.
Go Play!
Nice updated public course. Great greens but fast. Play was at a nice even pace. Finished round in 3 1/2 hours. Friendly staff.
Absolutely beautiful! Golf course!
The golf course was in absolutely beautiful shape. Even though they had some heavy rainstorms on yesterday, it was still in excellent condition. A great layout and challenging to all levels of the game. I like fast greens, but I would have hated to have to putt on these greens if it hadn't rained yesterday. They were beautiful, but I'll bet money that they were running at least 12 to 13 on the stimph meters. I can't wait to get back there and give it another shot!
Good Golf
Lightening Fast Greens. Tough reading break and speed... but if you play there enough that would change. Rolled true. Definitely will play again soon.
Wow the greens are fast! Great value
From the tips the course is almost 6900 Yards. Challenging long Par 3's, and only a couple reachable Par 5's. Greens are the gem here. Super fast and roll true not a lot of bumps or debris. Such a great course. Best value course I have played in dallas.
Surprising quality for a muny
As a high school teacher with very limited golfing time during the school year, I try to pack as much golf into my summer at as many different courses as possible. I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent conditions of the Mesquite Golf Club. I can't compliment the quality of the greens enough! They were smooth and slick but held shots well. Except for the somewhat routing weirdness of hole #16 I'd give the course 5 stars. I will be back!
Great Course - Annoying Marshall/No beverage cart
Course is in great condition. Staff was friendly in club house but the Marshall was on our group 3-5 times about staying on pace when there was no one behind us & we were waiting on group in front of us. No one likes a Marshall telling them what to do every other hole. Oh & by the way our group shot 75-80 so we’re not slow.
With that being said, everything else was great - my rant is more for management to see this because I would want to know.
Marshall Help!
Love playing this course. It’s in good condition right now. Play is just too slow. The marshals have got to do a better job of getting the groups around the course. The group ahead of us had two holes open in front of them and would not let us through. Marshall saw this and would not do anything to help us.
The course is in great shape right now. I hadn't played here in 3 or 4 years, but it was in great shape then, too. The greens are quick, really quick. We saw a Marshal probably every other hole, so pace of play was not an issue. Not the most challenging layout, but I would highly recommend this course to anyone.
Great Course
For anyone who have not visited Mesquite golf course within the last six months have never experienced the new golf course. The improvements to the golf course and the condition of the greens are absolutely amazing. I would encourage anyone who is considering the biggest bang for your buck on a golf course with five tees to choose from to come to Mesquite golf course and experience it
Great conditions
The course was in wonderful shape. Only negative was no beverage cart on the course
