La Quinta at Quail Valley Golf Course
About
La Quinta Course, one of the two regulation courses at Quail Valley, is a typical regulation course, slightly more difficult than El Dorado because of the water in play on 10 holes.

Nice Course but Stay on the Cart Track
Course was quiet, staff were friendly but the fairways were the bumpiest I have ever come across, almost had whiplash!!! Greens were fair, but this t8me of year what do you expect?
Very enjoyable round
The greens are a little ugly, but they roll perfectty. Course in very good shape. It's a challenge but a fair one.
Needs work
Hadn't played there in awhile, won't be going back. Cart paths are poor, the greens need a lot of work, and several of the fairways you couldnt drive a cart on because of all the bumps. There are much better deals out there for better quality than this course. I like the layout, needs work.
Greens Need Work
Friendly staff, decent pace for a weekend. Course conditions are pretty disappointing. Have played a couple times before and were significantly better. Fairways were mediocre, and bunkers are ugly but playable. Greens are atrocious - bumpy, bare, green mush and need some serious work.
Read someone's previous review saying they were good for the most part- that is an absolute lie.
Really good overall - small issue with greens.
Checking In - Staff were brilliant. Really friendly. Booked with a cart included as there’s no other options, but decided to walk the course. Staff reduced fee from $61 to $45, which is the rate for not using a cart.
Course was in decent shape for February. Tee boxes were relatively well kept, bunkers were superb - all raked with consistent sand levels.
Greens - they’ve obviously had an issue with the greens over the winter. There are loads of patches that have been filled in with sand and mix but haven’t seeded yet. This was around the edge of the greens. Where the greens were good, the roll was great and the speed was consistent.
Pace of play - 3hrs 40 mins on a Saturday morning.
Would definitely play the course again. Some interesting holes, great par 3s over water.
For $45 on a Saturday morning. Great value for the Houston area.
A great day to play
15 of the greens were in great condition. 3 needed a little TLC. But over all, a great golf course. Was a little windy today, had to choose clubs accordingly. Friends and I had a great time.
Super Slow Round- Unacceptable
This was my third time playing this course and always enjoyed the layout. The staff here has always been very friendly and courteous. The stater allowed my foursome to tee off 30 minutes early, which was outstanding due to Super Bowl Sunday. However, the threesome that teed off before us were horrible. We had to wait on all 18 holes. Granted the course was fairly full, it still shouldn’t affected the pace of play like it did. When I spoke to the marshal about speeding them up, he indicated that it was a group in front of them on the green. I explained to him that they should be teeing off and waiting to hit their second shots in that case. He never got it. Our round ended being 4:45 hours, ridiculous.
January 19
Over-all course was in very good winter condition, greens were excellent. Very good pace for a Sunday. Nice lay-out, wind can force some long carries on a couple holes.
Best bang for your buck
Course is decent, well kept with a good mix of easy and tough holes.
Beatiful Day at Quail Valley
Played the La Quinta course today two days before Christmas . The Weather was perfect, so the course was full but we managed to play in 4 hrs & 5 mins, not bad! The course is in good shape but the greens may be a little lacking, plus we had people in front of us with "heavy feet" if you know what I mean. Some of the fairways are bumpy but with good grass so it slows down the carts for sure. No leaves on the course and the staff was very helpful. I would recommend this course if you get a good rate.
I really like playing this course because it’s always well maintained. The pace of play was average.
Great older course
I would play there very often if I lived closer. Greens in great shape for Houston area public course. Very true rolls. Soft soil and clean fairways without crabgrass and weeds. Only wish a chance for the turn to offer drinks.
