Wash board fairways
This course by far has some of the worst fairway conditions I have ever seen. It's like solid washboards all through the fairways especially on holes 10 and 11. Before we were through playing my back was definitely feeling the pain. Luckily after a good nights sleep my back was feeling better.
Great Course
I have played this course many times and it is always good fun. La Quinta is definitely an easier course than El Dorado but both are fun. Greens are always in good condition and the staff is second to none.
Worth it
Greens were not fast but were in great shape. For that matter, the course was well worth the money. The staff/marshals were friendly.

Nice layout, OK shape, challenging.
It rained a bunch while I was there. Made conditions tricky. The rain scared everyone off so the foursome I was in played at our own pace. Bit of a challenging course. The fairways and driving range could be kept up better, but they in no means were bad. Overall very fun course.

Pace of Play
First off the course is in great condition and was a great value for being so close to the city. Our complaint is on the pace of play. We had a 5-some in front of us that had two open holes in front of them as well as a 2-some behind us that hit into us on multiple occasions. Not ideal pairings for a Sunday afternoon. I understand regulars like to play with one another but at least have them pull off to the side so that the faster groups can play through.
Glad you liked the course and the conditions. Indeed the pace of play can slow down on busy weekends. Though we can't chaperone all groups, our player assistants do their best to move play along. We're still the best value for most of Houston so we hope you make it back again.
The greens were in great shape.
The course was in great condition. The fairways were the best I have played this year. Would play it again.

Good Day for a 4-some
The La Quinta Course was in good shape and pace of play was awesome. Greens were a little bouncy, but overall very nice. Pretty straight forward course and was enjoyed by 4 16-24 handicappers. Good value.

Quail Valley Golf Eldorado Course
The weather was great and the El Dorado Course was in very good condition. The course played longer than I expected but the greens were in great shape. Would highly recommend any golfer play this golf course. The club house is gorgeous and very well layed out.

Good course
La Quinta was an excellent course and staff were very friendly. Although we finished in the alotted time, It would have been faster except for a fivesome that was playing in front of us. As several marshals came by, I assumed that this is permissable as long as they keep up with the alotted pace of play.

Great Condition
Great Course for the price. The fairways are in excellent shape and the greens are fast. Definitely coming back.

The weather was almost perfect, but extremely windy in anticipation of stormy weather expected in the next day. I played in the early afternoon, in the hottest part of the day, and never saw a beverage cart. There is not a TURN at the ninth beverage area, or vending machine anywhere on the course, only some push button cooler water.
We apologize that the beverage cart wasn't available for you that day. Seems like you enjoyed the course though, so we hope to have you back. Please feel free to ask for management regarding any detail like the beverage cart that needs to be addressed. We should have advised you of that before you started out. There are lots of sports drinks, beer and snacks available for purchase in the golf shop.
Shot Selection
Lots of water comes in play, huge greens, great shape. Be careful of your tee shot on # 15 sand traps come into play. I was told that # 17 was the best, they were correct⛳

The game on its own is hard enough... you're a trooper with a sore back. Not sure if you are saying the firm fairways were an issue but they are indeed a little dry with this heat that just let up. Fall and winter conditions are here, so the course should adjust nicely. Nonetheless, hope you enjoyed your day here and will be back again. Thank you.
