Iron Horse Golf Course

Given the location of this course with dozens of other course options with comparable links and amenities, their pricing immediately forces me to look elsewhere. They charge almost as much as the newer (premium) course (Texas Rangers). I simply paid for the tee time on this occasion. Until they lower pricing then I'd advise look anywhere else to get the same value and still look yourself in the eye later since you didn't pay the extra $$$ at iron horse.

I’ve played this course 4-5 times and love the course itself but course management has taken a turn for the worst. For an $80 tee time the course was not up to standards whatsoever. There were multiple people wearing jeans, baggy Jean shorts with a backwards hats who clearly have never stepped foot on a golf course. Guys we’re taking 25-30 minutes to finish a hole, smoking cigarettes and laughing, hitting multiple balls. I’ll take my $80 elsewhere until management realizes no one wants to play a 5 hour round of golf. Raise your standards, Iron Horse.

Haven’t played here in several years. I was impressed with the overall condition of the course, but especially the greens.

Price was after a discount. Played the "horse track" set of tees, and planting the tee in the ground was difficult at #3, #14, & #15.

One even appreciates the course even more on #11 when you see the rush hour traffic on the nearby interstate.

pace of play terrible, groups jumping in on 10 causing backup and Marshal did nothing as they were employees of the course. cart path only and not disclosed before paying online. 80 bucks??? crazy for this course. pro shop staff appear to be 15 or so and couldn't get them from their phones long enough to even discuss upon completion. course gone to crap since pro chris left. what a shame. played here since 95 and now not sure if this needs to be in my rotation.

while a Marshall came up to us on 2nd hole they never did anything about the slow play in front of us we waited 5 minutes on every tee box very slow course is in great condition! Will deifinately play again

The course was set up with challenging pin locations. Also many holes can’t use

Driver due to tight dog legs. Fun to play, great value. Only gripe is some of the greens were rough on the back nine, but we did have a very enjoyable experience overall.

Not a bad course. Better than your average muni after the redo. Pace of play was excellent for a Friday afternoon, out in 1:45, back in 2 hours. Greens are a bit slow and bumpy but it's a muni that sees a lot of play. Nine doesn't return to the clubhouse, the mobile hot dog stand is a solid touch. Cart girls running the course at 7:15 PM was pretty strong too. Might have given it 4 stars were it not for the greens, but it wasn't horrible. $26 Hot Deal minus a $10 tee time credit made for a great deal.

I CANT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH !!! WhEN YOU PUT OUT FOURSOMES EVERY 5 MINUTES THE COURSE IS A TRAIN WRECK FROM THE 1 St HOLE !!!! IT TOOK US 42 min TO PLAY 2 HOLES .WILL NEVER PLAY THERE AGAIN

Wish I could have known that the fairways had been aerated prior to booking the round. Brought in a friend from out of state and built up the golf courses' improvement since the rebuild. Just made it miserable to play in the heat of the day and not allow carts on the fairways. Now I understand if they were soaking wet fine. But at 4pm in the Texas sun, they were dry and carts should have been allowed. The GPS control of the carts is way too restrictive. Slowing the carts down on long stretches between holes is ridiculous. Some holes that run parallel, the carts are restricted even when you attempt to use the cart path for an errant shot into another fairway.

This course had atleast 45min waits almost to play 1 hole it took me almost 3 hours to play 9 holes. I got paired with people when I chose an afternoon tee time so I could play a chill solo game but they had overbooked each tee time so bad that even the people I had gotten paired with complained and said was common.
