Iron Horse Golf Course is laid out in the floodplain of Fossil Creek, an area loaded with woods and a railroad that divides the property into three tracts. When Dick Phelps designed the golf course he loaded it with par 4s that are over 400 yards. This track has only two par 5s, but you'll get your money's worth as they are virtually impossible to reach in two. Iron Horse's best hole is the 462-yard, par-4 third hole, which is generally a bogey hole for the average golfer.

Pleasant Surprise
Course was in really decent shape. Greens were, for the most part, smooth and quick. Some fairways were holding water but we’re in good shape. I will play there again

Fun course
This course is fun to play. Some challenging holes but not so hard to make it frustrating.

Good course to play
This golf course is in good condition and has been improved a lot. It went major renovation few years ago and is now an excellent alternative for the locals and visitors. I highly recommend it. The service is good with snacks at the course between holes 9 and 10. Try it.

Lower fees needed
Given the location of this course with dozens of other course options with comparable links and amenities, their pricing immediately forces me to look elsewhere. They charge almost as much as the newer (premium) course (Texas Rangers). I simply paid for the tee time on this occasion. Until they lower pricing then I'd advise look anywhere else to get the same value and still look yourself in the eye later since you didn't pay the extra $$$ at iron horse.
Not worth the money.
I’ve played this course 4-5 times and love the course itself but course management has taken a turn for the worst. For an $80 tee time the course was not up to standards whatsoever. There were multiple people wearing jeans, baggy Jean shorts with a backwards hats who clearly have never stepped foot on a golf course. Guys we’re taking 25-30 minutes to finish a hole, smoking cigarettes and laughing, hitting multiple balls. I’ll take my $80 elsewhere until management realizes no one wants to play a 5 hour round of golf. Raise your standards, Iron Horse.
