About
Iron Horse Golf Course is laid out in the floodplain of Fossil Creek, an area loaded with woods and a railroad that divides the property into three tracts. When Dick Phelps designed the golf course he loaded it with par 4s that are over 400 yards. This track has only two par 5s, but you'll get your money's worth as they are virtually impossible to reach in two. Iron Horse's best hole is the 462-yard, par-4 third hole, which is generally a bogey hole for the average golfer.

Too much walking
Half the course was walking only. I understand resodding but the whole fairway at one time
Pass on this one
While the staff was very friendly and accommodating the course is in bad shape. The fairways are dry with out grass in a lot of places. The t boxes are hard as a rock and little grass. Some of the par 4’s are bare and have staked off areas due to zero grass. Lots of places you can’t even 90 degree to your ball and forbidden to drive on. Will not be back.
A good alternative
Falls into the category of good municipal course. It could be a very good course, just needs a little bit more of everything, everywhere.
Lots of potential, but a bit pricey
Layout of the course is technical, definetly has potential. Too many holes currently under repair to justify the cost. Dont love cart path only on par 5s. Facilities are nice.
Course in bad shape
Disappointed in the course. Several fairways were almost unplayable. Layout is good, challenging course, but for the money can't recommend under current conditions.
Play the front 9 only….
The front 9 played ok, but there were 5-6 holes on the back 9 that were in the worst shape I’ve ever played on. One ENTIRE fairway was unplayable- all dirt and rock. Very disappointing- as I had heard that it was back in good shape. Will most likely never play there again. They should lower the rate to $40 or less due to course conditions. Definitely not worth full price……👎👎
Way Downhill
Used to love this track but condition was awful, especially for price. Fairways seemed to be torn up by tractors. Bad odors of sewerage throughout entire course. Bathrooms on course dirty and pace slow and crowded. Will be my last time playing this course.
Leaves a little
Iron horse has seen better days. The course layout is ok. There are some odd holes that are made difficult by position of the tee boxes instead of trees or bunkers. The cart girl was the highlight. She came by 4-5 times during our round so we never went without. Greens are ok fairways are a little rough. The practice facility was fine.
Nice round
Course was in great shape, little hard so are most course around this time. What stood out the most are the green. True role on greens, Speed was not bad.
golf now no answer
We were on hole number 2 and had a medical emergency and had to have the ambulance called and meet us at the club house. We were unable to finish our round of golf and Iron Horse was very helpful througt all of it but said i would have to reach out to golf now to get a refund.
Golf Now has never responded, there is no place on the site to ask or a phone number to call.

Well I really enjoyed the day and the course and the guys I got paired with. The course has an interesting layout. You have to play it to understand. I messed up and had made my tee time for 7am Saturday but was standing at the counter 6:30am on Friday. The nice gentleman helped move my tee time to Friday! Really appreciated his help! Oh and the food was good and great friendly food staff.
Friendly Staff, Always fun to play
I just really enjoy the layout of this course. You'll always use your whole bag of clubs. There's interesting shots all day. Nice to have the food station at 7 and 10. After my day, I was returning the cart and one of the staff offered me a ride back up the hill to my truck. After a long, hot day on the course, I really appreciated that.
Several holes under repair
Love the layout of the course but the fairways on 4-5 holes are terrible and no discount. The price is very expensive and would be ok for a nice course but with conditions and it rained a little night before so it was cart path only and they closed the range!!! No standing water and fairways was not even soft, ridiculous!!!
