Iron Horse Golf Course

Greens were punched and sanded (poorly). Many of the aerator holes were not filled level and putting was terribly frustrating. Many of the fairways had huge bare spots. Paid $85 per player and no one mentioned the greens were punched and conditions were bad. Should have been a discounted rate. To top it off they checked coolers at #1 tee to ensure no outside beers were brought onto the course. Didn’t see a courtesy cart until #15 where we ordered a round of beers. The beers didn’t show up until after we teed off on #18.

I have played at the course a few times and it seems like it is getting in worse condition. On the back 9 especially there was a number of fairways that had no grass at all and when you see it hit the fairway a cloud of dirt would occur. They also have drainage issue and there was lots of driftwood on the last few holes. I like the layout but it needs some attention. The greens were not bad but not consistent in speed and considerably slower than the practice green.

The gps on the carts doesn’t allow you to drive on half the fairways which is annoying. Greens are amazing but other than that the course is pretty mid.

First time out at IH. We liked the course but if we ever go back we will not book an early tee time. With groups behind us wanting to play a round in under 3:30 we as a twosome were unable to play at a pace to allow us to enjoy the day or the course. Really sucked.

Had seen Iron Horse from 820 for years. Didn’t live up to the looks from the road. Greens were the best part. Fairways were rocky in places, sand in other areas (not sand traps), Layout of holes is fair at best. I was paired with someone who knew or else it would have been difficult. Had higher hopes than were fulfilled… bummer.

Greens were excellent. Unfortunately, there’s lots of of dirt patches and washout everywhere on the course

But I would definitely recommend overall.

Course is getting into shape. I know it was a Sunday afternoon, but from #7 on it played really slow. Marshals probably would have helped Otherwise, still fun to play here

On the positive, the staff all over the course were excellent and friendly, including the marshal, and the hot dog lady. Btw, the hot dogs were also excellent. The GPS in the cart was a nice touch and helpful both my son and I. The greens were in good condition. The tee boxes were decent condition, but desperately need a tidying. Broken tees everywhere, on every tee box. We golfed in the morning, so these were tees that have been there for most of the winter. I recommend garbage cans on each tee box, and possibly a broken tee box next to the tee markers. Might also want to have a divot repair bucket on the Par 3's tee boxes. The fairways were very rough, lots of winter damage, ground under repair, weeds, pot marks, broken branches, etc. Also, I enjoyed the streams and creeks running through the course, however, those areas also need a serious garbage clean up. Lots of the natural areas are being ruined with garbage. It's a visual mess.

Great course! Fairways and greens are good for this time of the year. Plays tight but had a lot of fun. Be sure to get an early tee time. Took 4 1/2 hours to play

Great course! One of my favorite courses in the NFW area.

This course hasn’t always been in great shape this early, but today it was and I was very pleased with the course. Greens were amazing. I know they had a little redo and not sure exactly what they did, but it is great

Greens were very nice.

Sand traps were very nice aswell.

Tee boxes were good.

Fairways were nice..but bare and spoty at places.

Layout....nothing they can do to improve but i was not a fan of it.
