Osprey Point Golf Club - Hawk/Raven Course

About
Osprey Point Golf Club offers 27 holes of championship golf. The location of the three nine-hole courses was formerly used as farmland but after years of non-use, the landscape had become completely overgrown. The Parks and Rec Department of Palm Beach County transformed the terrain into a lush and scenic public course that offers three different 18-hole combinations. The department wanted it to be a certified Audubon International Classic Signature Golf Course, so they increased the acres of natural habitat, converted to more environmentally friendly grass, and instituted a number of environmental protection efforts. It is the first golf course in Florida to earn this designation. The Hawk/Raven Course is one of the combinations at the club. It has a player-friendly layout that is made even more approachable with five sets of tees.

Poor course management
Booked a twilight 4:16 t-time on a Friday and did not get to go out until almost 5. The starter was unfriendly - maybe because of the workload. If one of the 9s is closed they should not be loading up the course like this. On top of that the greens weren't all that.
Gets a lot of good reviews but not sure if a real golfer would appreciate the pace of play here.
First time, not the last time.
First time at Osprey Point. Don’t live close. But I will be back.
Best public course around
Osprey Point has to be the best public golf course in the county. Three 9 hole courses that are always in impeccable shape. The green fees are a value that can't be beat. They have a great practice facility that includes, a driving range, chipping green and putting green. They also have an amazing youth golf program that grooms youngsters to be great players and ambassadors of the game of golf. You better bring your "A" game because Osprey will test your skills. Bring extra balls. A great golf facility with great amenities and a nice clubhouse with good food and a great view. Osprey Point is one course you don't want to miss.
Great public course
This is one of the nicest and best public/municipal courses I have played. The fairways and tee boxes were in near perfect condition. And the greens were great. Nice and smooth and a good speed for regular golfers. The sand traps on the first 9 were full of water. And I was cart path only on 5 holes. But we had a pretty heavy rain the night before. The course is built up against the Everglades and it is always present. The fairways are wide enough. But off the fairway isn’t in the trees with a chance to punch out. Off the fairway is completely gone. The wind also plays a huge factor in the course. They have a great practice facility and the staff was nice enough. Pace of play was right at 4 hours and it’s pretty much always busy. Really a great value for just over $40 that I paid to play. I’m sure it’s much more in the spring/winter/fall. But if you’re in the area I don’t think you be disappointed in this course. I played the combination of the Hawk and Raven 9s and loved it. The Falcon 9 is currently closed.
PBC public golf courses best!
If you join the PBC frequent player membership, you get 4 options for golf (Okeeheelee, Park Ridge, Southwinds and Osprey Point). I'll have to say that Osprey Point is the best of the four options. IMHO it is the flagship course. This was my first time playing at Osprey Point. I got a chance to play the Hawk/Raven combination. It was a humbling experience. My first nine at the Hawk I was playing lights out, only shooting 3 over par, then the back nine at Raven brought me back down to reality and ate my lunch. Raven is a lot tougher, with a stretch of 4 holes that are very tight, that if you don't want to take your medicine and play for bogey golf, they will make you pay and I sure did. Overall, the golf complex and golf courses are very pretty, super well manicured and in excellent shape. The course gets a lot of traffic as you can see from the ball mark repairs on the greens, which oh by the way, people need to be given lessons on how to repair ball marks. Nonetheless, the course is perfect tee to green. It's a 5-star course at a great price. Good luck getting a decent tee time in the morning as it is very coveted. I was told Falcon was not open because it's getting aerated. I loved the fact that they can aerate one of the nines while the other two nines are unaffected and open for play. I can't wait to return and take on the Raven challenge again and try out Falcon for the first time.
Best public course around!
Absolutely pristine from tee to green! Manicured, tight lies, beautiful views and good pace of play. I could play here everyday. 3- 9 hole courses the practice greens just as nice as the courses. Friendly staff excellent amenities. It’s a little tight for inexperienced players but the excellent conditions are very player friendly. I would recommend to anyone! It’s a very high demand course and tough to get a t-time but if you can get on you’ll definitely want to come back again and again. Zen golf for me and best public course in south Florida!
Great value, beautiful course
Audobon Course surrounded by Florida wildlife. Great conditions.. hot deal has the course at under $30. One of the rangers was telling us the course had a new Super and the course will look even nicer come wintertime.
Overall, great course. Will definitely make the drive up to play again.
The greens were aerated and the grass was a lot longer than usual. Once it’s cut and the holes fill in the course is definitely worth playing .
Nice course but not for hot summer days
This otherwise a beautiful golf course is not the best to play during hot summer days. There are no shades throughout the course to get some necessary breaks from hot scorching suns! Facilities are great. The course conditions are typically great, though the greens were not the usual fine conditions due to aeration performed only recently. Bring your golf umbrella and a plenty of cold drinks if you want to enjoy this nice course during hot sunny days.
Perfect course conditions
This course never disappoints it's such a fun yet challenging layout but it's very fair greens are healing but still rolling nicely....will be back soon to play the other 9 holes that wasn't open.... highly recommend this course!
Course was Closed
Golf now charged my CC and the course was closed. The course said they notified Golf Now multiple times not to take reservations for the day. I would like a refund for the charge on my card .
chased off 18th
i love the course and it's in good condition. But I absolutely object to having a ranger come run me off the 18th tee box (as a single player moving fast!) because they want the carts in at 7:45. Official sunset on that day was 8:10, and there would actually be good light for another 15 minutes after that. So with at least a half hour of good play time, this doosher wouldn't even let me play out the last hole by myself! No way to treat a paying customer.
