Golfer Reviews
Stonecrest Golf Course, Prestonsburg, Kentucky
Stonecrest is a beautiful course with gorgeous panatamic mountain views in Southeastern Kentucky.. The course is laid out to accommodate all golfers and presents a challenge to any caliber of player. The fairways are in quality condition and greens are quick Anyone fortunate enough to play it once will definitely want to return for the next round.
I'm justa swingin'!!!
The weather was great, the staff was excellent, I
left my best shots at home, but I enjoyed myself just the same. Front nine was crowded, but opened up very nicely on the 10th hole. The 2nd front nine was pretty crowded, but I enjoyed watching 2 young men who could play the game, and the views that constantly come into focus are well worth seeing.
I hope to play this course many more times.
It was wet so we were cart path only, but the course is still very enjoyable. I have played this course many times and I enjoy the views of the hills, and houses, its like being in the Smoky Mts. on vacation. The staff is great, and I played with a new partner(Dr. Bryan Griffith) whose company I greatly enjoyed, even as his game was far better than my own.
If he played regularly at all, his only handicap would be partners like myself, who tend to duff a few balls. Try this course, its well worth the ticket price.
Top notch course!
My favorite course east of Lexington. Excellent condition, with the exception of the sand bunkers which should just be filled and sod put on them. I am serious this course has fabulous greens and fairways, and either start taking better care of the bunkers or at least fill them in. Great location high in the mountains, a view of the scenic beauty of eastern Kentucky. Don't skip a chance to play here.
The Green, Green Grass of Home!
The fairways are nice, but do have spots where they are still damp, but this is easy to handle. The greens are cut and most are fast, which is also easy to understand. This is the course I have played on 12 to 20 times a year for the last 3 to 4 years, and I love it.
The entire staff have been very friendly and helpful and
that says a whole lot in my book. The course is beautiful, and at times you just have to sit back in the cart and soak it all up. It is well worth the price of admittance.
Course conditions are best in tri state! Staff always friendly and willing to accommodate. Very professional also.
Always a pleasure
One of my favorite places to play when I am back in eastern Kentucky.
Tee to greens, course was in great shape! Greens had good speed all day and were easy to read. Loved the course layout. Staff was friendly and welcoming to us knowing that we traveled over 2 hours to play the course. Well worth the trip only wish it were closer.
Great State course
This is one of the most fun state courses to play in Ky. It's very playable and scorable. Always in great shape.
wet on a hot day
grounds crew was always in the way and wetting the tees ahead of us the whole round. we were told 90% and they were driving down the rough & fairways.
Nice Course
Played on 4/15/17. Very nice course. Great value. Fairways were good. Greens were good looked like they had bee aerated a couple weeks ago. Seemed to be healing up nice. Rough was very thin but I'm sure they will get that corrected.
Great pace but slower greens
Today was a great day to play Stonecrest. Morris and the staff are extremely helpful and today was no exception. The fairways are great for this time of year but the greens could be rolled and faster. Overall, I'm happy I stopped by today. A day playing golf with my dad is better than any other.
Best course within 100 mile radius
Great course well wort the trip I drive 70 miles to play tho gem
