StoneCrest Golf Course

This course continues to get better and better the more I play it. It was very soggy Friday but was told they got a tremendous amount of rain the day before. However, for the most part, the course still played well. They have really opened up the view of the course by taking out old brush piles and trees which gives the golfer other avenues of attacking holes as well.

Good at the grill was great as always. Pro shop is well staffed and the Top Golf tracer is not too far away.

If you haven’t given this course a look, do yourself a favor and play it. Once all the construction finishes and having the ability to look back at where they were and where they made it to is going to be something to see.

Golf now is the way to go for the best prices. My only complaint was the pace of play on the front nine. It was super busy with a lot of 2somes playing behind some foursomes. So, I guess that’s just the way it happened on that day. Course I’m good shape. Crew working on 2 holes that required teeing off from an advanced place in the fairway. Greens were perfect. Staff and facilities were top shelf. Give it a play if you are in the area.

Really enjoy this course. All holes were open and the construction behind 4 is complete. The backdrop is going to be great once the grass is added. A couple holes had the tee boxes moved up to clear the area of the workers, but the course still plays well. Greens rolled well and held when trying to spin a ball.

My only complaint on the round was the kid using the jet blower to clear the grass clippings from the fairway. He would drive away which cleared the area to tee off only to turn and come right back at the box as we started to hit. Had no idea to get out of the way or at least steer clear until we hit and then return to his duty.

The grill has a nice menu and the outside deck is a great place to eat and hang out after the round. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Will certainly return for another round soon. Although there is construction along the way, the progress can be seen and the course is going to be a gem at the end.

They were letting the sand bunkers grow in which is nice if you can’t take care of them

Lots of work was being done so hopefully the course is improving 1 hole on the course was shut down totally another hole had all tee boxes blocked having us tee off in the middle of the faraway (want happy about that)

Too bad the work had to be done during prime time golf season- hard to find workers these days probably didn’t have an option

Course is under construction right now. Hole 4 is closed and 2 holes play half the distance they normally do. Course is still in good shape but they’re working on it. The pace of play was horrific. We had a six some in front of us and the rangers never did anything about it. It took us about 4:30 hours when it should’ve been 4:00 or less.

For a course going through a major facelift, this place was a pleasure to play. My son and I drove 90 minutes to the course and were already planning on coming back before we made the turn.

The greens were great. The rolled nice and smooth, were fast and the ball would actually spin on lofted shots. The tee boxes were soft and fairways were plush.

Being built on the mountain top gives the course a unique setup with several tee boxes well elevated above the green which allows players to let it rip and watch it roll.

There was one hole that was shut down due to tree cutting and all the bunkers are closed for now but they never caused a problem for the round. We saw deer multiple times on the course and the view from 13 is beautiful.

The pro shop is well stocked and the workers are welcoming. The restaurant has drinks and snacks for a quick bite at the turn and a full menu and sitting area for lunch after the round. Good was very good and staff was pleasant.

Practice green and chipping area is massive and rolls fairly close to the actual greens in play. Pace of play was decent. Usually had 2-4 minutes of wait time along the way depending on the group ahead of us. Played our round in my just under 4 hours.

Already planning our next trip next week. The course isn’t perfect because of the construction but the future is bright and I can respect that which made the round fun.

New owners are doing some good things and it will be a little bit before it all gets finished. Bunkers are being worked on and some new holes and tee boxes are being put in so it is a little hard to play with no sand in bunkers and some little things like that, but over all a really nice place to play. Great layout.

A large amount of improvements being actively made to this course.

I was disappointed that when my party showed up to clubhouse to play, we were informed that we had to wear collared shirts. NO signs, no notice on the facebook or webpage or any other notice was provided showing this rule. I was not happy that i had to drive all the way home to get a shirt OR be forced to buy a over priced shirt from the clubhouse.

We just stopped here play this course In Kentucky to cross off that state off our list; very happy that I selected this course. Would love to play it again and hopefully it didn’t rain recently.

They are making improvements to the course. Which is going to be nice when finished. The new carts with working GPS and range to center of green. Is a good improvement.

Played in a large scramble yesterday, and was pleased to see so many improvements being made. The course is soon to be reversed with #10 becoming #1 hole. Finally see some of drainage problems being solved and the greens were really good.

Looking forward to seeing the results.

Greens were true and very fast, especially for this time of year. Fairways were wet, but still in good shape. Great layout and a challenging course.

This was my first time playing this course. The front 9 was closed for aeration so everyone was playing the back 9. I am sure that, at the height of the season, this course is in excellent shape and fun to play. However, there were quite a few bare spots in the fairways. The greens were in very good shape and very fast. The layout of the course was fun with elevation changes and several blind tee shots. Once you get used to the course I'm sure it is quite a bit easier than what I initially found it to be. I do look forward to playing it again.

Always nice course, flood rains hurt fairways and bunkers. Need to get to work on bunkers and fixing flood damage.
