The Nicklaus Design Course at Vidanta Puerto Penasco

Fantastic course but with deadly consquenses if you are off the fairways.

About 9 holes on the water. Great course layout, definitely not boring. Must play with a great price!

Stunning course, well maintained, great greens . . . very challenging, and certainly not for the meek . . . bring balls and patience.

Greens and course are as good as any high end course plus scenery makes it a must play if you are close

The course itself is fantastic. Lush green grass, wide fairways, perfectly groomed greens and unmatched scenery on the ocean front holes. The problem is the price. Unless you get a discount on Golf Now or get coupons at the resort after sitting through the time share presentation, the rate quoted was $195.00/player. (No discount for guests at the Mayan) We booked through Golf Now. The starters were helpful, the pro shop staff were not willing to bend on the rate even after admitting they only had 7 booked tee times for the entire day. Take lots of golf balls b/c you will lose a few unless you are a scratch golfer. You will enjoy the golf once you get out on the course.

I felt the course was excellent value for what I paid ($42). The course was in great shape, nothing to complain about. Grass was healthy, bunkers were in great shape and greens were fun. The view was also very nice with ocean on one side and estuary on the other. I wouldn't hesitate to play again. We had a little bit of a slow round but I wouldn't image that would be the case for everyone. We had a huge weddding party in front of us, drunk and slow. We took about 4.25 hrs to play, but you could easily play faster without the wedding party. Practice facilities were nice and represented the course very well. You can practice putting and feel comfortable going out.

The reason for 3 stars is that they now charge you extra for the driving range if you book via golf now. The staff doesnt like it and it shows. otherwise an extremely difficult course with wind playing havok. The fairways and greens are in top notch conditions. Play earlier in the morning to avoid the winds.

I play Vidante every time we are in Puerto.

Got to be my favourite place for design condition value and scenery.

Played around 2 pm and was done in less than 3 hrs.

This is a great golf course. There is ocean or lake views in most holes. Some of the holes are parallel to the beach. Amazing views and the course is always maintained to perfection.

. . . a must play if only for the scenery. The course itself is great, but hard . . . made harder by lots of blind shots that only a very-repeat player could figure out. And two club winds. GPS might not even help. A guidebook with tips would probably be more beneficial. But still, a must play. Go on a weekday and leisurely hunt for your lost balls without pressure.

First time playing this course. It is a very challenging course. I am 70+ so I usually play white tees, but on this course I did not have the length. Joined up with a lady who plays there regularly and she alerted me to some of the pitfalls, but this is a course that needs GPS on the carts, especially for those playing it for the first time. My playing partner said they did have them at one time. Got a good deal from GolfNow, but had to pay extra for range balls. Good range - nice grass and unlimited balls, but on most high end courses, this is usually included. Did not eat at the restaurant, but heard good reviews. Friendly staff. Other than the fact that it beat me up, I enjoyed it. There was little wind and I was told it can get very windy and I don't think I could play it on one of those days.

They advertise to be rated in top 20 in the world, and I agree. We have played many top courses and this was beautifully groomed, challenging (although forward tees could accommodate any level player), and we had the place to ourselves. Much better than other courses in Rocky Point, and I can't wait to return!

The course is very well-maintained. And it was a heck of a price. Windy, so you had to adjust your shots. But fair. Undulating greens which I believe Is a Nicklaus trademark. I'm at 13 handicap and was proud to shoot 90 from the white tees.

one of my favorite cousre to play. You need to be on your game and ball palcment is very import here. Bring some extra balls you may need them. Love to play any time I can.

Beautiful course, not so friendly cashier, very friendly player services, cart broke on 13th hole, replaced quickly, wind was a play factor.

Best course Iv'e golfed in 3 years.

I'm an ex golf professional and have played all over the United States, from Bandon Dunes to the Sandhills in Nebraska. This place is a must play. Great staff, great food, and a unbelievable golf course. I would highly recommend this place to everyone! It's very challenging but fair. Don't miss out on this great experience in Puerto Peñasco!

Book on Golfnow.com rather then thru the Mayan Palace. Found the "Hot Deal" at $32.00. However, the course is well worth the regular rate.
