Elevation Changes Galore
This is a challenging course no matter how many times you play it. The first time is crazy hard. The elevation changes will challenge your senses and there are some blind shots which will throw you off. Distance control is a must. There are several shots with extreme angled lies. Hole 4 is the most extreme in both blind shots and elevation changes. There is no easy shot on this hole. The course conditioning is great and it's a must play if you are in the area.
Visually Beautiful & Intimidating
My father-in-law, Chris, and I escaped the house while it was being interior decorated by my wife and mother-in-law. Chris plays Old Waverly and Mossy Oak in Mississippi, at least once a year or more and stated that Yatesville (Eagle Ridge) is one of the most stunning courses he has played. I agree.
Not only is the course visually beautiful where countless views abound, but it is intimidating visually. With the amount of elevation changes, the high-handicapper I am was shook some times (luckily my short game was better than average). My suggestion is to leave the DRIVER in car and prepare to play target golf. Even hitting the fairway might lead to trouble. It can be a daunting round which results in numerous lost golf balls.
However, at the end of the day, it is a great course and look forward to playing it another time.
Great experience
All around great experience with exceptional hospitality. 10/10 would recommend
Difficult course, but fun and so beautiful! We WILL be back! :)
The most challenging course we've played and yet probably the best time we've ever had. Yes, the course was crazy hard (elevation changes/tee shot from 400 feet above the green, lots of rough), but it is so beautiful playing in the mountains. As everyone mentions, definitely take lots of balls (not the expensive kind, because you WILL lose balls), but it is well worth it. You cannot beat the scenery or the peace and quiet. Just amazing. Driving the cart from hole to hole was a good time in itself. There weren't a ton of people out that day, so the pace of play was perfect for us.
All the staff was wonderful too - super friendly - they brought our cart to us and came and picked it up when we were done. They were happy to talk about the course and the area. All in all, a wonderful golf experience! (rate noted was for 2 w/cart-Hot Deal)
5 stars all around - Dee's Drive-In in Louisa on the way back to our hotel was also the perfect way to end the day :)

Hidden jewel
This place was amazing. I can’t believe I’ve lived 1 & 1/2 hours away and never played it. The fairways were the best I’ve seen in this area, but the greens would blow your mind. Perfect! My mind is blown. This will become my every other week course. Hats off to the staff. Probably the hardest course I’ve ever played. Y’all might want to take some extra balls with you!
Great course.
I’ve golfed a lot at Eagle Ridge and it’s always a great time. Staff and volunteers are great. Course is maintained perfectly. Zero complaints.
Had a blast
Awesome course. Amazing scenery. Pretty good shape considering spring isn’t even in full swing in this area yet
Good for the price
Kept up really good, greens and fairways well maintained
Favorite course
I'm a horrible golfer and just started. my best score is only 110 but I love the course. I've not played a lot of different courses but this is the nicest
Dangerous carts
As always Tellia at the front desk is a gem. She is the best employee that the golf course has and always takes care of her golfers. The course is in great shape. However, the golf carts are unsafe. First of all you cannot walk the course so if your going to play you must have a cart. It’s just to hilly to walk. The state of Kentucky should be ashamed to put these carts out with players in them. The course opened in 2003 and that’s how old the carts are. 17 years is to much wear and tear for a golf cart on a hilly mountain course. They have never been replaced or had any upgrades. The tires are bald, brakes won’t work and the park brakes kick off when your parked on a hill. The straps on the carts won’t hold your bag so unless you hungry cord them in your bags gonna fall off and skin your clubs up. They are so worn out they won’t pull the hills and forget trying to get from 4 to 5 and 13 to 15. We have heard for years that the course was getting new carts and then we hear that we are getting hand me down carts from another state course that are used but in better shape. No carts ever show up and no one has a satisfactory answer as to why this premier course doesn’t have enough clout to even beg for a few used carts. It’s totally unacceptable. I hope soon they get some descent carts before someone gets seriously hurt.
Course in great shape, but they really need new golf carts.
Tells at the pro shop is always so nice and friendly. Greets you with a smile every time and you get treated like family. Carts are worn out and need replaced. Course was in great shape.
Course Features
This is the 2nd Time to play this course. It is a gem that has been a hidden secret. The course has beautiful views, especially at this time of year when leaves are turning. Tees, fairways and greens are in great shape. With being a country boy, these greens are some of the best I’ve played, bar none. Even though the golf carts are somewhat old and are slow, it in no wise made the round any less than enjoyable! I will definitely play again this year if the weather permits!
Beautiful course with fall colors. great layout with multiple elevation changes. Greens and fairways were in good condition. Only negative is their golf carts. There were a few times did not feel safe trying to negotiate hills on wet, leaf covered cart paths. But, this is a beautiful golf course. Worth the drive.
Hidden Gem
If you're ever any where close to this course it is a MUST PLAY! First of all the staff is Amazing, they treated me fantastic from the moment I called to reserve my tee time until the time I returned my cart and talked with the cart guys about my round. The course: ELEVATION was inssne, tee boxes from the tips were perfect, and the Fairways were well maintained , and the rough was exactly that, fairway here is a must. By the way did I mention the numerous blind shots and numerous layups you may want to play! This is definitely a players course and it was a Fall extravaganza for me! I cannot wait to play this course again. Definitely top 10 course in Ky as far as difficulty! Tremendous greens that held approach shots and rolled fast and true. Oh and the staff, Top notch, until we meet again!
