3rd Tee and Green Great Hole Photo submitted by Ravensleigh on 08/19/2015
Good day out
Good course - this is an old established course that demands respect as the terrain is used to full effect in the design. Not for the unfit, the hills are energy draining for older golfers like us.
As visitors we were welcomed by the staff and helped and advised by members
First Visit
Very nice little course, very well maintained and the layout is challenging, with some of the hills! Will go back. Course ammenities are not scored as I didn't use them. Pace of play is less due to other course users not using golf etiquette, which is vastly disappearing from the game no a days.
Hilly...
Good course, challenging par 3’s .. and very hilly in some places. The fairways slope left to right on some holes making it more challenging.
You play the 9 holes twice but with different tee positions.
Ideal for the price.
Frost, snow rain
A miserable day and course had taken a lot of rain previous 48 hrs but played OK, proper winter golf conditions but still enjoyed playing this course. A good test, interesting greens and friendly staff, will have another round in warmer weather.
Decent
We played there yesterday and the course was in good nick. Clubhouse was closed up but not the end of the world. Would definitely play here again.
Not great
Very confusing layout on hole two and the hills are to much. Was told it’s an 18 hole on the phone and it turned out to be 9 played twice
Very nice course
This course was very well laid out and enjoyable to play, the only issue was that some of the greens were very sandy and bobbly. Rest of the course very well maintained.
Fun round in the wet
Challenging course with 5 holes in the valleys and 4 on the plateau - Braid design is classic with mature trees.
Great welcome, thank you, and for the guidance around the course.
Fun atmosphere in the clubhouse with many locals.
C19 stuff is all in hand.
Very friendly club
I played 18 holes and was greeted by a very friendly chap who explained the unusual course layout - 9 holes but 18 tees in slightly different positions to make it more intetesting. The holes can be a little confusing but it was fine when they were explained. A good mix of holes but the terrain is not for the feint hearted. The course is in good condidition with firm greens. It has some very steep hills so be prepared for a good workout. Overall a very enjoyable round.
A nice course with friendly staff. Quiet hilly so you need to be fit and the layout can be confusing. Still an enjoyable experience
