Nice friendly course being brought back to life by caring owners

It has been a few years since we played here. The change of the back nine to the front nine works well. The fairways and greens are well maintained. The lady who staffed the halfway hut could not have been more helpful. I will be booking here again for sure.

I have played Bird Hills many times before but have never seen the course in such fantastic condition..every aspect of the course was perfect

Always a decent place to play a round. The course is in good condition overall, fairways a little baked out and one or two bunkers need some work but the greens are in good shape, tee boxes also.. Plenty of run on the fairways for decent hit shots. It’s a good course to work on your handicap, nice wide fairways and rough that gives you a chance. Facilities are fine, the staff are much more friendly and welcoming than was once the case. Friendly members too. It just gets so busy! Booked for 18 but gave up after 9 as it had taken well over 3 hours to that point. Great to see a course doing well but be careful of when you book unless you want a long wait.

We last played the course 25 years ago it was amazing to see how much the course had matured in those years with the grown trees giving the course much more interest and difficulty than we remembered.

Other courses in the area are overpriced Bird Hills is competively priced and excellent value.The starter was particularly friendly and accommodating. The round was a bit slow but we played on a sunny Friday afternoon so it would have been the same on any course.

We recently played here as a visitor, the clubhouse was more like an office, there was no signage throughout and you were expected to know where you are going.

The greenkeepers must be complimented, the course was in fantastic condition but just let down by the clubhouse and staff in pro shop. Overall it was an incredibly unfriendly experience, no range balls etc. and no one on hand to help / offer to help.

Wouldn’t rush back.

Course in good nick, greens rolling well. Relatively easy layout so enjoyable enough for our standard of golf. Guy in the hut selling drinks was pretty abrupt and rude. Course busy and very slow, my last 2 rounds here have been over 5 hours and it spoils your rhythm as you spend so long standing around waiting. Perhaps groups should be spaced further apart on the first tee?

Overall really enjoyable round! Great value, good practice area & driving range close to 1st tee, staff very friendly! Course in great condition! Not the most exciting course to play but overall I would recommend and return!

Course is in lovely condition and a nice course as well, all the staff were very helpful and had some great banter with the guy in the booking hut at the beginning.
