Bradley Park
Possibly the best municipal in the country. Good layout and pace of play generally good. Did get stuck briefly behind a 4 ball of players new to the game but they had the sense to let us through. Good variety of holes and good quick but true greens
A very pleasant afternoon out
After a recent injury I had little expectation of playing all that well but I cannot blame the course. The fairways were bone dry and running fast and long and the greens were in surprisingly good condition. Good afternoon out and no further injuries:)
Horrible pace of play
Clearly the club house were selling tee times off with 5 mins intervals. It took 2 hours to get to hole 8. 3 groups of pairs lined up queuing to play and then groups behind you left you with a horrific experience with pace of play. Which is a huge shame as the course is lovely with very unique holes
Overbooked
Overbooked slow play completely ruins the course. We had a tee time for 12:32, we got there at 12:20 and 5 groups where still waiting to tee off - what made it worse where another group that we spoke to had been given the exact same tee of time as us. Clearly more worried about money and bookings rather than the experience of the players. Also no marshals or staff once came round to check speed of play or if people where actually booked or to encourage others to speed up.
We had a woman and 2 men infront of us, they had 3 groups waiting to play the whole and they where marking there balls and taking ridiculous amounts of time to play their shots.
We did not finish our round till 17:30 5hours to do a 2ball is ridiculous. Also young group of lads infront of us playing in crocks and sharing clubs also did not help with the speed.
What is set out as a genuinely good course ruined by the want to make as many bookings as possible and make as much money as possible.
My playing partner actually discussed becoming a member there because he really enjoyed to course, but the overbooking put an end to that instantly.
Bradley Park Golf Club
Overall it was a great day course in good condition. The greens are being sanded but overall had a good time. Recommend your player here.
Pace of play
Nice enough course but hugely spoilt by the pace of play, two groups on the second tee by the time we’d played the first which is shocking. Impossible to get any rhythm going and meant a lot of waiting around. Could do with a marshal on course in the evenings if other reviews are anything to go by.
Got stuck behind 4 4 balls they wouldn't let us through so the pace was dead slow to nearly 5 hours
Fast green but awful bunkers
Overall course conditions were great! Greens ran fast and fairways / tee boxes were lovely. Only thing that let it down was the state of the bunkers was like hitting off concrete & the pace of play was very slow but overall enjoyable
Bradley Park Review
The dry spring has done wonders for the course as it can get boggy when wet. For a municipal course with all the pressures of council cutbacks, the staff have done a great job and I feel the course will only get better as the season moves on. Parkland type course, but with plenty of elevation changes, a worthwhile visit.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Driving range on site.
Played several times, usually summer times is the best to be played. Winter conditions is not great as it gets boggy.
The greens looking good but there room for improvement.
The bar opening and closing time is very poor and it not likely if you teeing off late afternoon because the bar would be closed by then.
Bradley Oark
Great course with some very challenging holes.
Only issue was following a four ball set of players.
Would highly recommend
Exceptional for a Municipal Course
A great course! Good variety and challenge across the course, fairways in excellent condition and greens were better than expected. It was the last week on the winter tee boxes and they felt neglected, however, the summer tee boxes look great ready for play next week.
Speed of play was good. Had a 3 ball in front and behind us (we were also a 3 ball) and there were no delays or waiting around.
Course loops back to club house at hole 10 so perfect for a quick toilet stop!
Club shop is well stocked and staff are friendly. Got a great pint of Guinness in the clubhouse too!
Putting / Chipping Green are decent. Only issue was that our tee time was early and the driving range didn’t open until 9.30 so we didn’t get the chance to warm up before starting.
Overall though, great value for money and will definitely become a regular here.
Tee times are too close course Has potential
Fairways were good wet but it’s the time of year for muddy fairways. The greens have definitely seen better days all patchy don’t look to have much upkeep played all through winter and haven’t had bad greens anywhere else.
Pace of play… tee times are 5minutes apart so you all queue to tee off by the 3rd hole we joined another duo to try get some space behind us which helped. They also keep the tee times open so you could play with 2 strangers nothing on the booking to say this.
Beautiful course well laid out and some good challenges but it needs resurrecting.
Might visit in the summer and change review but it’s the tee times that out me off feeling like you are getting rushed through holes.
Great Course
Im new to golf, and I’m trying as many different courses as I can. I have played a few now, and really enjoyed Bradley Park. The course is very well kept for a municipal course, and each tee is clearly marked.
We played 18 holes, and really enjoyed ourselves. It is quite a hilly course, but this can work both for and against you.
Will definitely be back to play again.
