Great layout
First of all - the course was still on Winter mats for pretty much all of the holes, but I didn't really mind this.
The course is carved on to the side of a mountain (well it felt like it) but somehow, it still didn't seem terrible to walk. There was definitely A LOT of wind up there when we played.
The holes are definitely fitted into the landscape brilliantly with a nice mix of length and layout
The course itself was in ptetty good condition for the time of year but some holes were cut down for winter. I have often wanted to play this course but never have, I would say that I was very happy that I did and really need to return to play it in its full summer glory.
Excellent value, good nick for time of year.
Couple of holes closed and replaced with par 3s whuch knocks a fair bit off but can’t complain shooting beat round since my 30s - no-one else around and beautiful sunny day.
Wet in places as you’d expect but for £20 it’s a bargain. Staff in pro ahop exttemly helpful, looking forward to playing it again when weather improves (and prices don’t 😉).
Great Course
Brilliant condition from t boxes to fairways to greens. Very friendly in the pro shop and free pull alongs was a bonus. Wouldnt fancy carrying !!! A fair test in all honesty although breezy i'm sure with a brisk wind this could change. Deffinately be back 10/10
Unorganised
Played today and wasn’t instructed that there was a competition on and the pace of play was horrible we was a 2 ball and took around 3hrs just to play the front 9 so ended up finishing our round on the 9th
Brilliant day all-round staff excellent course superb would recommend anybody to play it
Ok if you've got one leg longer than the other
Bring your crampons. Pretty scenic, but every hole is up and down dale, apart from 4 on top. Some greens in very poor condition, lots of moss, not worth the price.
Dewsbury - April 2025
Great, really fun, inviting course. Would definitely recommend. Countless interesting holes.
Score wise didn't play great but when I come to play here again will knew where to miss and score should be considerable lower.
Utterly disappointed
Course status said that there we no restrictions of temps..
7 temps, every green was tined, leafs in every fairway, and when I asked I. The pro shop for the course status upon arrival I was told that there wasn’t any. Very disappointed and I will be requesting my money back.
Good course
Course is good can’t really complain too much just have to check if there’s any comps or tournaments on as it can get busy with older groups which drastically slowing down pace of play.
Dewsbury and district golf course
First time I've played this course. I played with a friend so just the two of us and it took 4 and a half hours to get round. Greens weren't great but it was September to be fare. Club pro is a true gent and staff were great.
Course layout and condition were first class
Played from 16:00 and very few others on the course so we wizzed round in about 4 hours. The layout and condition were first class but you certainly need to be fit (or have a buggy) to cope with the hills. Every hole is different and the course offers a real, but enjoyable, test for all types of golfer. The 13th hole plays off a cliff edge and you need to aim a lot further right than you think but it certainly gives you something to think about. Will definitely play there again and at £20 for 18 holes you can't beat it.
