Great Value
First time playing this course and very enjoyable. Greens were excellent and fairways good. A couple of tee boxes were a bit bare but overall the course was in good condition. Not a long course but some nice dogleg holes. Great value at only £14! Only drawback was the number of dog walkers and other members of the public wandering around the course. I would definitely play there again.
It's okay but nothing special
Too many dog walkers and balls flying everywhere and the pace of play wasn't really very quick. Greens are nice and fairways in good nick for a public course it's not too shabby. Layout is a bit tight in places but some interesting holes. Just got fed up with dog walkers that's all who really don't care less about golfers. very ignorant lot
Great course
Set off 20 minutes early Great course pace no problem let though by a members 4 ball after 3 holes only one tidy little thing a few more signs with direction to the next tee would be helpful. You must keep your eyes peeled as there where a lot of dog walkers and joggers but will definitely be playing again
Ridiculous Value for Money
For only a £13 green fee and considering it is a publicly owned course, the standard of the course was really very good. The fairways, tee boxes and greens were all looking close to their best, albeit the latter were quite slow. Only negatives (very picky) is the lack of ‘clubhouse’ and the frequent dog walkers and members of the public, whom some didn’t seem to realise it was an active course at times!
Having said that, I had a great day, and will definitely be returning
Played here a couple of times now and can’t fault the course. Greens excellent and condition of fairways is good. Exceptionally good value for your money.
It's always beautiful in the first
Really like playing here, always have. Much better greens than many clubs. Especially good for the money. Just look out for all the public walking around.
Fantastic Course
Played 2 ball game for the first time at Chingford. Course very well maintained and extremely spacious. Definitely recommend, would come again.
Good Simple Course
Nice little course.
Holes are quite easy as long as you hit it straight
A lot of hackers on the course but very friendly and many waved me through with no issues.
Would recommend for high and mid handicappers
Challenging Course Layout
Layout of the course is quite challenging with Basically every hole apart from the Par 3’s bearing left or right. The greens were quite well kept, however the fairways and tee boxes need some work in my opinion. Value for money was quite good in the respect is was only £10 per golfer, however anything more than this I would not be willing to pay.
Pace of play
Completely over booked
Why is it more and more lately no one seems to have the most basic of golf eticate of letting people faster than themselves play through
Completely ruined the round
Condition
Course startiung to look unkempt, paths poor
Greens always good
Great greens in the Epping Forest
Top quality greens given the time of year and high volume of rain in recent days.
The course was to me an unusual combination of public access land with 18 tees and greens laid down. Walkers and dog owners were very golf-aware and no problems or delays encountered. The fairways are a bit rough and rutted but the greens were fantastically well kept. Interesting and enjoyable for my first visit.
Very good
A great course on the edge of Epping forest.
A good mix of holes to test your game and plays well throughout the year.
The only downside is the clubhouse could be more welcoming despite the sign saying otherwise
great day condition spoiled
Tees were very poor, fairways okay and greens looking okay and slow, good test all round with all types of shots needed.
Cheap golf round
Started at 11:30 and it was a bit overcrowded. You couldn’t fault the greens they were perfect and well maintained. All the fairways was not flat with a lot of ridges, Very rough terrain and the carry was a lottery. Many walkers crossing whilst playing. Nice upmarket cafe attached to the pro shop with friendly staff. If the fairways was a little flatter I would return.
