Building new tee areas
Great to see obvious investment constructing a number of enlarged tee areas.. Sensible roping around greens to reduce wear and tear from trolleys etc. Whoever is in charge of such decisions WELL DONE.
Don’t waste your time or money
Poor conditions fairways are ridiculous bumps don’t know what else to say but this needs a lot of attention
Great Value for money
Considering this is a public course, it’s in brilliant condition. The greens are immaculate for this time of year and whole course in a great state. There are currently temporary tees whilst maintenance is carried out ready for the summer, but this did not detract from the round at all. A busy, vibrant cafe adjourns the small clubhouse - great before the round. Would be nice to have a pint at the end of the round although there are few bars nearby. Will definitely return as amazing value for money!
Best public course in London
Brilliant course. Excellent value for money. Can't speak highly enough of it. Best public course I've ever played for the money
Horrendous
This is not a winter course, the course has no drainage and is therefore flooded and unplayable. It should really be closed in the current conditions, accepting green fees in the current state is criminal.
Not worth going in Winter
The course was so boggy we walked off after 10 holes. Puddles and mud made up the fairway.
Nice course lay out but disappointingly next to no drainage.
Not worth opening after any rain.
Excellent value for money.
My favourite course. A great test for all levels. Greens are always decent , only bad one is the Par 3 7th hole. Lovely public course , excellent value for money.
Staff are fantastic apart from 1 man who worked on that particular day wouldn't let me go out with my pals when we was booked 7 mins apart on 2 separate hot deals. Unbelievable. Wasn't an issue as we paired up again on the 2nd , just really silly and unnecessary.
Everything considered, I would Highly recommend. Great course , I absolutely love it
Fine course
Simple forest course with challenging shots, but many hazards but plenty of trees to contend with.
Good course
Only played the front 9 but thought it was great value for money. Holes has plenty of variation - only problem was the pace of play which is difficult to avoid on a Saturday afternoon for any public course
Very slow
Normally I wouldn’t moan but after Saturdays round which I didn’t complete, unless the course had flood lights as it took 4 hours to play 13 holes and I started at 13:30, ridiculous. To many four balls and people who just wanted to try golf but you have to start somewhere but why have so many four balls.
Royal Epping/Chingford Golf course please consider your booking and time table
Great greens, slow pace
Course in good conditions with the greens particularly fast and true. Layout fairly interesting but pace of play was poor, however overall excellent value for money
Royal Epping Golf Course
I took my wife’s cousins husband for a game of Golf around Royal Epping and this was his first time. He really enjoyed it but was a bit slow (5hrs) and why have they not got a half way house for refreshments when it is taking so long, he has a point. Apart from that he said the course is very very good
Investment paying off
Great to see improving course quality, fairawafairways and greens obviously being given appropriate care and attention. Thanks. Remains excellent value.
