Chingford Golf Course
Excellent afternoon playing golf. Weather couldn’t be better excellent service from the Pro Shop and the golf course was in great condition. Only thing was a bit slow
Excellent value through golfnow
Over 6 months since playing here. Greens remain in very good condition. Most teed are good. Fairways well kept. Massive improvement in signage on Tees and to next holes when leaving a green. A very good investment, well done to those responsible. I'll be back. Cheers.
Saturday 10/9/22
Very disappointed with the course today, greens were terrible. Grass to long on the green, to much sand and played slow. Was not even told when we turned up that greens are in repair. Very slow pace mainly to people who don’t know how to play.
They also should have a half way house for refreshments
Great Golf club and greens perfect
First time play here and we were amaze the green how they maintained well., will be back here soon.
Friendly people.. great value
From the really friendly and helpful lady in the shop.. to a course with really good greens (considering the extreme weather).. to great views as we played.. it was a really GOOD day out.. will be back and before too long
Wonderful Setting in Epping Forest
Very picturesque course, quite challenging. The greens were very good despite the hot and dry weather.
Good challenge for all levels
The greens were running true and fast. Fairways needed a bit of attention, but nothing major..
Would definitely play here again.
Cracking course and great value
The course was in great condition. The greens were excellent, we think there had been a competition the day before. It was very busy but the pace was good.
Great value, public course for all levels
Public course for all levels inc beginners. You'll see people walking their dog etc but great value for money. Condition varies a lot but it is usueally fair and sometimes good mat its best
best greens
just around the corner from Chingford Station, the greens are in great conditions bear in mind rain has been limited this year. nice layout. enjoyable round of golf
Limited facilities but good course to practice
There is no bathroom facility, only at the cafe/pro-shop when you start and finish. Sure it's easy for men but what are we, lady golfers supposed to do if they need the toilet? You can't just go to the bushes, it's on public grounds so lots of walkers on the footpaths. FYI: Car park opens just after 6:45.
Value for money
Friend and I had a great time playing Chingford / Royal Epping golf course. Greens were immaculate and course layout was a challenging but fair par 72. Pace of play was very slow (5hrs to complete a two-ball) due to a novice never playing golf before at a peak time of 0930 on a Saturday morning. Would highly recommend this course to others and will definitely look to play again soon.
Challenging Course, but very slow play
Good public course and great value for £10. Well kept and very challenging compared with other courses around the area with longer par 4s, fast greens and fairways that aren’t quite in tip top condition.
Pace of play would have been extremely slow had it not been for several groups in front that let me pass through. Can imagine it would have been far worse if you were in a 3/4 ball.
Excellent value for money
This is my local course. Play it at least twice a month. It’s an open public space so you get plenty of people walking their dogs in some parts. That does not detract from the golf. It’s a woodland course with smallish greens. At this time of year the greens are in excellent condition. The fairways have a good covering of grass as well. Good range of holes. You will need your driver and 3 wood off the teas. The prices are excellent and don’t think that means an inferior experience. Off course facilities are minimal. There is nowhere to shower or change. Well worth a visit.
Peaceful morning round
Quiet course early morning. The dog walkers can be a pain but that's it with a course on public land. It would be great to have bathroom facilities at hole 9 or somewhere during the game for the lady golfers. The only facility is at the start and end, or if you break it after 9 which is a 5 min walk.
