Forest Creek Golf Club

I love playing Forrest Creek. Staff are friendly and helpful. Course is always in great shape and it’s a fun track to play.

Overall the course was phenomenal. Greens were maintained very well. Trash bins at every hole made it easy to throw trash away. Fairways were very green and well maintained. Something every good golf course should do that I haven’t seen much of in the area was that the carts had a full display. GPS, electronic scorecards, and Bluetooth for music. Only thing I would say is we stopped at the turnaround to grab drinks and food. It put us a little behind on the time so the cart kept screaming at us but we didn’t have to wait on anyone all day nor did anyone have to wait on us. It’s so well priced and I would come here over a lot of the courses in the area. The drink carts were always around it seemed like so you never sat and wondered when the next one was coming through. This course definitely is in my top 3 within a 25 mile area.

The conditions were adequate considering a week of wet weather preceded our round. Some very interesting holes and some gimmicky one as well. Without knowing where the creeks ran made for several surprises on drives that were found in the penalty areas. Shaggy tee boxes weren’t a problem but we’re surprising to discover. Id play it again.

This is a beautiful course with some minor annoyances. Fast greens, well maintained greens & fairways, good layout, a fair amount of bunkers, on-site driving range. Now here’s my complaints, which could easily be fixed.

Our golf cart, which was electric, worked well, & had a nice screen in the cart, is gps monitored. If you go out of the area it literally shuts down the cart. Sounds ok, nobody wants a rogue cart, but we had our cart shut down TWICE while driving down the paved cart path. 1 time put us completely out of commission for 2 minutes. Finally it allowed us to continue on.

The other annoyance is the lunch voucher. Nice of them to give that, but assuming it’s built into the price you pay, they offer 2 options. Hot dog or sausage wrap. With todays range of diets, it leaves many of us out to dry. No alternatives are offered, no apology, not even a bag of chips.

How about. Grilled cheese for vegetarians? A veggie sandwich, something?

Greens were very good and fairways were as expected for this time of year. Pace of play was slow. A course marshall would have been helpful to keep groups in front of us moving along.

The tee time comes with a free hotdog or wrap, drink, and small range bucket. The greens are in the best shape out of the three courses I have played since I’ve been in Austin and the course is beautiful with a great layout. Plenty of dog legs and the tee shots require strategy. Course conditions are pretty good for this time of year and I would play here again in a heartbeat.

Nice and green fairways and clean and fast putting greens. The pace is the best I've played and the GPS on the carts helps with course and play management.

Course was in good shape for early March. Greens are fast and hard.
