Cocks Moors Woods Golf Course

Nice little course, not long but accuracy and distance control needed to get a good score.

Fairways good, greens excellent, bunkers okay.

BUT... Four and three quarter hours for a twoball going 5800 yards is a joke.

I have played this course many times and always have an enjoyable experience. There are a wide variety of holes of varying difficulites. The course is generally fair and the greens are kept to a high standard. With green fees of arounf £12 on weekdays this is an excellent value course.

I was a junior member here 15 years ago and it's not really changed a great deal. Challenging front 9 then a slightly easier back 9. Great value for money that I have found hard to beat. The club pro Steve Ellis and his son Matt are 2 top guys who will always give help/advice if required.

No problem with the course, just another slow round due to lack of etiquette or just plain decency ..4 hours 15 mins for a 2 ball.

Early tee off, got around in just under 3 hours ,some great testers ,greens and course condition very good ,would play again at that price !

This is a mature course with a variety of challenging holes. Played yesterday. The fairways are recovering well from the recent drought but the greens were exceptional, smooth and true.

Enjoyable experience. Course not too hilly nor too flat. Plenty of variety in the holes, not boring. Sited at a leisure centre which surprised us by the cafe being closed - at 2pm ?

That was the only letdown. But we would go again.

This is a great golf course to learn to play golf. It's a challenging but fair golf course. Staff at the golf shops helpful and friendly.

Greens better than expected considering the weather of late. Fairways dry and running.

Course is poor in winter - boggy.

Golf Facilities basic.

Staff friendly.

Course design is pretty good.

However, online costs are probably the best value around.

A good budget course with plenty of variation. Not overly long.

Some of the bunkers need a bit more sand, but otherwise a the course is in great condition

Taking 4 hours due to the very slow play by the groups ahead of use spoiled a good round of golf

How these players will react to new rule changes will be interesting - eg not putting the ball when it is inches from the cup amazed us

The course was in good condition for this time of year, especially the greens

Im not kidding, grass cuttings on every single fairway - which meant you couldn't tell if your on the fairway or not! Good course layout totally let down by a dodgy mower. Proper school boy error - i've played golf all my life and never seen cuttings everywhere like this! I would suggest a pretty good winter course when the broken mower isn't out! Greens were good, bunkers usual builders sand however... I might come back for a £10.

Played here many times...value for money through teeofftimes....not sure if they still have green staff' as the course is a shadow of it's former self.

first time playing the course looked well maintained greens were nice and true . pace of play was a bit slow due to older players not allowing others last them
