Potters Five lakes
Returned to the course for the first time since the transition to potters and was pleasantly surprised by the state of the lakes course having been concerned that it may have shown signs of neglect
Course was in great condition and the greens were immaculate throughout all 18 holes and clearly been tended well especially bearing in mind the hot summer we have had .
Layout been amended since last played whereby the front 9 and back 9 been reversed which we didn’t really understand however made no difference in play .
Overall a very worthwhile return and will be back , just hope I play much better on return as I had a shocker which was purely my doing and nothing g to do with the course itself
Well done Potters and please keep the course to the current stsndard
Nice round
I’d played a few weeks prior and the greens were not good, discussed it with a couple of the keepers who explained they were all being dressed owing to the hot weather. Fair enough…
This time they were really very good and soo were the tees, (except the 10th which is an odd little par 4, out of place from the rest of the course).
Well inside 4 hours for 18, really enjoyed the round.
Good course
This remains a good course, despite new owners fiddling with it and closing the 'sister' Links course.
It feels 'gimmicky', as if the owners are trying to differentiate it from others. E.g. instead of simply White, yellow and red tees, they have gold silver, bronze - what's that about?!
Overall very disappointing compared to how it was before this summer
Five lakes
All greens were covered in sand and so you would of thought they would have told you this before taking your money and letting you walk out on the course.
Hotel receptionists were rude.
five lakes
was unable to use your app as it was not working very disappointing on your behalf. hopefully this won’t happen again.
Good experience
Lots of work going on at the resort as it has just been taken over so not a great apres golf experience. Course itself is challenging and condition was pretty good. Best thing about this place is that it never seems busy, so a relaxing game at your own pace.
A good solid course
Course just getting back to its best after winter, a few more weeks and the greens will be great again. Few had disease and bumps still on. Guy in pro shop is always welcoming and funny, so a big shout to him.
Five Lakes worth a visit
Reasonable value. Fairways lack definition. Greens and bunkers play fair and true. Clubhouse is linked to Spa so lacked atmosphere. 2 greens keeping staff followed me around. 1 was great but the guy cutting tee boxes and fringes kept getting in the way without showing any acknowledgment.
Great
Great course, great facilities, friendly-ish staff, great tees, fairways and fast greens.
Slow play was the only disappointment.
Generally a great course I would recommend.
Enjoy the golf - hospitality sucks
Great course in good condition, although no-one appears to ever repair their pitch marks. Otherwise the course was I great condition - punishing rough, great fairways and fast true greens.
Just don’t bother trying to get a drink or anything afterwards - it’s table service only and now-one ever bothers to come to you. When you go to the bar, you’ll get a ton of attitude from the barman.
Shame, because the courses are well worth playing.
