Picturesque gem
Stunning views, superb greens! Credit to staff, dry fairways.
Little bit hilly! Will definitely be back!
Great condition course.
Last played Guildford gc over 20 years ago. Decided to play here as my home club was closed due to heavy rain. Guildford was in superb condition, particularly as the course had suffered a high amount of rainfall over the last few weeks. I would happily return and play, and the membership packages look very keenly priced.
Snails pace
Round was ruined by 4 ball of women who didn’t offer to let us through as a two ball that was clearly quicker than the said group…at least 13 holes spoiled by waiting for 5-10 mins at tees then again for second shots…spoiled the day
Love this course
Played my second round here today and once again really enjoyed it. Only issue today was the greens had been recently tined making putting difficult. Good Pro Shop and Catering facility. The changing room and toilets were spotless.
Drove 1.5 hrs, course was closed
Booked on Golfnow on Sunday night, all confirmed.
Drove from Salisbury to the golf course, only to find the course shut. No communication from Golfnow whatsoever.
Top couse
Loved it.. not a bad hole on the course and in great condition… great value for a quality course.. a lot of dog walkers was the only downside
Enjoyable Round of golf
Played here fort he first time and had an extremely enjoyable round.
We played when it was very windy, (40mph) but luckily the forecast rain didn't arrive until we were on our way home.
The wind made the front 9 quite short and the back 9 more challenging. Some of the front 9 holes are quite close together with tee boxes and greens near each other.
Some of the greens had been sanded recently but they were still good , fast and tricky to read and the varied slopes and pin positions made for challenging putting .
This was an interesting course and you had to think your way around.
Great views and everyone we met, either staff or fellow golfers were very pleasant.
We will return, hopefully when it's less windy!!!!
Mr d
course was very good greens and bunkers were very good .
Course recovering well from the dry weather
Nice course. Well maintained. Elevated tees on 1st, 12th and 17th. Uphill tee shots on 9th, 14th and 16th. Plenty more variation in elevations to boot.
Great course, better in summer
The course was a long course, lots of undulating hills and I would recommend a buggy if you aren’t as agile as some. There clearly has been some course maintenance happening which has made the fairways and greens less than ideal. Having said that, it is November! Would definitely play here again.
A fun course to play.
Played here for the first time. Greens were in great conditions. Course layout was fun. A few interesting tee shots. Given the hot conditions over July and August the fairways were a bit burnt but you can see them recovering. I look forward to playing the course again with the fairways are looking good again in September.
Good golf challenge
Guildford is on the north downs in Surrey and is good draining, making it ideal for winter golf. Today there were no temporary greens and they were generally in good condition and fair to putt on - maybe a little slow. The course is kept in good condition and bunkers raked with sufficient sand.
Just a warning for those who have not played here - it is public land and there are quite a few walkers, dog walkers and the odd runner around - you just need to watch out before playing.
Quality
Classier than most Offering pay and play.
Tees in good order with the club crest adorning the markers.
Bins with lids on a nice touch.
Not many bad holes at all.
Course played pretty well in the wet conditions. Can of course get windy on the downs.
A few very up and down hilly holes such as 1 and 17. Very nice for driving down into.
Good practice facilities with a mini range for short irons and wedges right alongside the putting greens and practice bunkers.
Would Definately recommend for the £25 a head we paid after 1PM.
Great value as this is a step up from many or its local rivals.
Proper golf club.
Enjoyable Round
Course in very good condition. Greens slow but true. Some tough holes but good interesting mix. Really enjoyed the round and the great views.
Perfect Spring Sunday afternoon
A really well-maintained and interesting course with the Surrey Hills playing a greater or lesser part in most of the holes. Good practice facilities (putting, chipping and irons range). Clubhouse which mixes a traditional exterior with modern facilities inside. Recommended.
