Take lots of balls
Great course. It was my first time. Very fast green and some challenging holes. If its your first time either approach cautiously or take lots of balls.
Lovely course
Well me and my friend had a great round. Sun was shining and the warm weather help the game out. The greens were brilliant to play on. The fairways were freshly cut. Lovely staff in the pro shop too.
Definitely a nice place to play for sure.
Shorter quirky course in fabulous shape
First time playing here. Just happened to be about half way between where a friend and I live.
Parking: Plenty
Signing in: via Pro shop where you can pick up a drink and snack before the round. Very friendly welcome from the pro in the shop.
The practice green in good shape and true reflection of course green condition and speed.
Could of practice nets available.
Course is short at 5800 yards. Don't be tricked though to thinking this makes it easy. Dog leg shots, water and narrow fairways await you. You will need to think a little more than normal even for a course being played for the first time.
Read a review scoring this course low due to how close the greens and tee boxes are, they are but didn't stop my enjoyment or change our experience.
After the round we had a drink and was a lovely "members club" atmosphere. Both of the bar colleagues were really friendly and interactive.
Paid £25 for weekday twilight round via golfnow.
It's about £40 for morning tee offs.
Well worth it for the condition of the course. Genuine and welcoming golf club based on our experience.
Pleasant
Like playing this course. Enjoy the views and challenges from the course. Was a little bit wet in places but that’s due to really heavy rain over the last couple days. Still a fantastic course though.
Disappointed
So so so disappointed
Limited to no dress code
Dangerous tee boxes where at times you were super close to the previous green
Shouts of ‘four’ all afternoon
Tee’s in poor condition
1/10
Brilliant.
What course. Brilliant staff even with the corona virus going round.
The course was amazing even with the terrible weather we recently had over the past months. Couldn’t fault anything
The sun was out which was a bonus.
Suffolk sweet spot
Was joined by young man and his mother walked around with us. Thoroughly enjoyed there company. Course was excellent with a variety of different holes, water was present at a few holes. Greens were being sanded as we played, but did not affect the putting at all. Ground staff were very courteous and patient. Will return to this course when I’m back in the area.
Such a friendly club
A friend and I just love to play this course why:
because the Professional, Staff, and indeed the Members are so friendly it's a real pleasure to play there.
The course is maintained to an excellent standard too so well done to the Greenkeepers.
Can't say too much more or they may put up the Green Fees!!
Kind regards R S
Course in great condition
It’s short and par 70. But it makes up for that with lots of interesting dog legs. Great bunkers. Perfect greens and really the friendliest staff we have ever met. Will definitely play there again.
Brillaint.
Loved this course. Met some really nice members and played up till the 10th hole with them.
Had a big competition in front of us the whole day and had to miss 2 holes out, but with that being said I loved the course. Lovely fairways even in this weather. Would definitely play here again no doubt.
The pro at the shop was very helpful and they had some really cheap bargains on old stock too.
Haverhill
Despite the recent poor weather the course was in excellent condition. Greens were especially nice.
Played the golf course today. I have heard so many good reports about the club but never got around to playing it. We arrived late after getting stuck in traffic, when we arrived the professional staff were fantastic he reassured us that he would get us out and immediately put us at ease. Once we were ready, true to their word we got out for our round. The course was in great condition and we throughly ended our round. We used the bar and catering facilities after and again the staff were extremely friendly and the food was good to. We will definitely be back for another visit.
Fantastic course
Even in the winter months this course has been so well looked after. Got stuck behind a four ball but other than that great round of golf
A Real Hidden Gem
So often you see people call a course a "Hidden Gem" and are a disappointed when you play the course. Not so at Haverhill, nice fairways, well looked after greens and pleasing on the eye. Staff were so friendly especially the chap in the pro shop who gave us his tips for the course before playing. Well looked after & the views were exceptional, the actual holes are very easy on the eye. Still dry enough for buggies and only one hole a little damp on the fairway in the wooded section. If I lived closer I would play again in a heart beat. If there was one minor negative I would say clearer direction to the next tee from the present green would be my only slight constructive criticism.
Always a pleasure
Haverhill has bags of variety and challenge and is always asking you questions, like should I play safe or take on the dogleg. There are plenty of opportunities to attack but you will be brought back to earth if you think you can master it. Staff are very welcoming and attentive: a genuine, decent golf course in all aspects.
havehill
course in good condition would have rated excellent apart from the fact of varying amount of sand in some of the bunkers, greens fast and true.
