About
Greatwood is known for its white sand bunkers and impressive par 3s, three of which play right at or over 200 yards. The 1989 Carlton Gipson design features elevated tees and greens that sandwich plush fairways and are contoured with mounds.
The 434-yard par 4 hole 5 is one difficult par, featuring a fairways loaded with bunkers and involves water on the approach. No. 18 goes 576, yards. While the tee shot is fairly standard, the second shot must land short of a plateau and might involve a blind approach shot if placed too far to the left. The intimidating approach plays into a green surrounded by water on three sides.
Getting there : From Hwy. 59 south, turn left on Crab River Rd., then make a left onto the other side of Hwy. 59. Look for Greatwood Pkwy. and make another left when you get there.

No Communication
Paid for a time and wasn’t even notified till i got there that the course was closed. Greenskeeper wasn’t very professional either in letting us know it was closed either. Doubt i’ll ever try and golf here again.
Course is improving
Course condition is improving. Greens are best I’ve seen in a long time. Good value for a quick practice round.
Course needs to start doing the little things
This is great “local/mid price point” course. However, they need to invest a little more on maintenance. It plays well, it’s a fun and fast course; but it needs a little love to stay at the $69 price on the weekends.
Friday afternoon at GW GC
Course was in very good condition and pace of play reasonably good. Generally good value for money.
Teebox was super dry
Teebox with Super dry had a very hard time placing tees inside the ground. Golf carts was so annoying. You could not step off the cart pad without it disabling they were. A couple of players I believe that were probably staff actually that played right in front of us played through without any permission
Maintenance & Mosquitoes
Bumpy fairways and lots of mosquitoes. We left about 8 holes into it.
Nice course
Overall was a good course and as a beginner it had enough changes to keep me on my toes. The pace was on the slower side due to the group in front of us.
Mosquitoes ruined it !
Mosquitoes and flies ruined what would otherwise have been a great round of golf. It got worse as the evening set in. You could barely stand still on the Tee boxes.
Great course!
Course was in excellent condition from fairways to greens. Course is challenging and has a great layout. Will be returning soon.
Great Layout… horrible everything else
Lived on this course my whole life. The family that owns it now does not care about their customers or the condition of the course. They used to use water from the ponds to water the course and that was when it was in the best condition. They got caught… they only water once a week which is on Friday before they scam golfers 60-80 bucks for decent condition. Other than that it’s bone dry, bring a drill for the tee box.
However this is one of my favorite courses to play because of the lay out. Hopefully the lazy family does something.
Decent
Other than houses tight to the course on many holes, it's an overall very good layout. Lots of challenge. Tee boxes pretty hard (tees hard to put in) and course drying out quickly. Greens were decent. Pace was a little slow. Definitely not very walkable with tons of distance between holes. Decent day on a decent course.
