Leeds Castle (9 hole)
Lovely spring day for first golf round (even though only 9 holes) of the year! Course in very good condition given the weather conditions lately.
Always good course
First time this year at Leeds Castle
As always friendly welcoming staff and course played really well despite maintenance going on ready for the summer
Ball really travelled as so firm but good condition along with the spectacular views
Always recommend Leeds Castle
Shame
Leeds castle is local to me so I play here on a regular basis, especially in the summer.
It’s a great and challenging 9 hole course……when it’s all playable.
However, on the day I played (25th February) although pre warned on the web site it was disappointing.
4 holes had temporary tee mats that were positioned more than half way down the fairways making good par 4’s into par 3’s.
As well as this the old par 3 6th was reinstated in place of the great par 4 around the castle moat. This meant on a 9 hole course there are 6 par 3’s and a driveable par 4!
I understand with the recent rain courses need to be protected but a reduced green fee should be charged.
I’ll wait until the course is back to its full glory before returning.
Really enjoy this course, it’s challenging and fun
Fun little track
Very enjoyable 9 holes, where no 2 holes are the same, have to carefully plot your way around whilst there still being plenty of opportunities to score. Not a long course but albeit a lot of fun and fantastic value for money.
Good course, slow play
Good quality course, with testing holes and varied. Greens were excellent, fairways were reasonable if a bit patchy. Tee boxes were ok.
We did 18 holes (double nine) first round unfortunate to be behind a comp, pace was extremely slow. Second round, comp had finished thankfully. However pace was still pretty slow, plus it’s awkward as people queuing to start their round as you arrive for second round.
Shame it’s not a full 18.
Having said that would go again with same reduced fees, as it’s generally good, with excellent views of the castle.
Good size 9 hole course
Played with my brother & dad in the evening. Well stocked golf shop.
Course was in very good condition and lovely views of Leeds castle as you go round. Pace of play was also good. Would look to hire an electric trolley for my dad next time we play there.
All round good couple of hours golf in the evening.
I introduced the course to a freind of mine and he really enjoyed playing the course for the first time. The course was in good condition and the staff are very friendly. I would definitely go back and play again
Course with a stunning view, greens not bad either!
Although a short course, you need to be straight to score well here.
The view on the holes by Leeds Castle are spectacular. Considering we played in the middle of December the greens were in excellent condition, the ball rolling true. The only downside is the incredible amount of worm casts, making it cloying on the shoes.
Overall highly recommended.
lovely course
fantastic course and scenery behind the castle and friendly pro shop as well. definately come again!
Poor course etiquette
Booked 18 holes but only ended up playing a very slow 9 before encountering some very poor etiquette and going home! As I was playing the ninth I could see someone waiting on the first tee. He was still standing there, chatting on his phone, when I started waiting my turn. He showed no sign of being about to tee off, in fact he hadn't even got a club etc ready! He blatantly ignored me, turning away and still talking on his phone until his friend came rushing up, obviously running late. They both continued to blatantly ignore me as it became obvious that player one had been literally standing on the tee, waiting for ages for his friend to arrive and tee off first!
One of the most picturesque courses in Kent
I was introduced to this course by a friend and fell in love straight away. Playing around the castle is beautiful. It is a mainly tight course with onlh 2 hole where it opens up for a driver. I think if it could be adapted to have one par 5 then it would be brilliant. You can play it without touching your driver if you are unsure with a driver like me. I am contemplating joining and playing regularly because it forces you to be a straight shot.
