There was nobody in the pro shop when we arrived - only saw bar and restaurant staff. All temporary tees - track marks on the fairways and greens very poor. People should learn to replace divots and repair pitch marks!!
Good days Golfing
Friendly staff, good condition for time of year. Tee mats but scorecard set for mats which were also in really good condition . Reasonable price for good days golf
Winter golf always tough , back 9 challenging but great experience
Very enjoyable to play
Deer running around in large numbers makes it unique
First few holes straight forward enough then gets trickier in back 9 . Trees can be a challenge if you misread the fairway but very enjoyable to play , would play better in summer as winter golf always a struggle
Recommend it to anyone
Good value
Course was a bit wet but most courses are. Really enjoyable round. Greens ok. Fairways good considering wet weather
Did well with the rain
It’s a nice open course, a little dull to start. They have groups of deer nearby
Beware sticking it into sat nab as they is an address by same name in east London
This made the journey longer and wrong
Sunny afternoon
An enjoyable round on a quiet afternoon with only the deer as company!
Watch out for the Deers
Nice course , very open and quite forgiving, loads of deer and a few Stags lying about its a sight to behold. Course is well maintained, fairways were very good , greens were a challenge at times , weren't the best, but overall very good would definitely recommend
Great course
Really good course, well maintained and great value for money. Only negative was the amount of leaves on the Green, which I suppose is expected for the time of year, but would be good if the ground staff kept an eye on it. Also there was 2 sets of 4 balls who were very slow and kind of spoilt our round and did not even let us play through, especially as we were playing 2 balls and more or less waited around 5 min on each hole!
Maylands
If you enjoy an old fashioned layout then this course fits the bill the weather had just turned when we played but the course was still decent the yardage doesn't do it justice as the clever design..uphill shorter holes play longer so you'll have to hit the ball exceptionally well to play to your hcap I will definitely be back in the summer. If I was a member here I wouldn't grow tired of playing here I bet it plays slightly different every day
Hidden gem
Great course lots of variety from tight fairways between trees to water in front of greens makes you think about you game. Lots of deer on the course so expect to have to wait for them to cross fairways
Great potential
Have played here a few times in past however, felt the course was pretty average. It would appear there is a lack of investment.
Very slow round of golf
When I arrived, there was a 3 ball with 2 buggies, followed by a 4 ball in 2 buggies and then a 2-ball walking which wouldn't normally be a problem and should have been a fairly quick round.
Watching the 2 groups in buggies was like watching Wacky Races as they were all over the place often congregating on a tee to have a cigarette and making the 2-ball wait, and never once suggesting they play through.
As much as we all need to learn it would have been good to have a course marshall (never seen one here), have a word with them.
Good course
Played a few times, generally a good course and fairly priced. Greens were in good condition.
Attractive parkland course.
Pleasant course particularly suitable for high handicap players. Lots od deer on the course that add interest.
The bunkers all need more sand.
Excellent condition
Cant fault the state of course.
Only 2 things to complain about.
1 they need a starter when its busy its almost a free for all ans because you can book online sometimes you are paired with anither couple but not forced to play together. This is unfair on other groups who have booked a time because they are then delayed by another tee time.
2 Group in front shiwed no regard for anyone else. Driving their electric trolley over the tees, Slow play by one of them up to the point that the other 3 were jyst leaving him behind. Picked my ball up from a bunker on 12th after he walked back from green to find his lost ball which was in different bunker. Criss crossed fairway after fairway going back and forth to trolley rather then bringing it with him. Then gives up on 17th hole after flying the green. Walks from 18th tee to back on 17th to receive his ball then walks straight over green again as we played our ball. Total disregard the whole way round. Then they all finished on 18th and stood right next to green to do their scorecards absolute nightmare
Decent course !!
Nice course in decent condition.
Pace of play a bit slow behind a society.
Friendly staff in clubhouse and pro shop.
Lovely food too.
