May have been a championship course at one time…..

Expected good things given the course is hyped up as a championship course which has hosted prestigious events, sadly doesn’t live up to its name. Everything is just tired, the greens were in reasonable condition but many of the bunkers had little sand in them, the fairways were in pretty poor condition and the rough needs a cut. Have to say I had a friendly welcome from the staff and pace of play was good. Has potential to be a stunning course but it needs more care and attention. I probably wouldn’t play it again and unlikely to recommend unless it’s tidied up.

Mayfield

2nd time playing Mayfield. Slow play and noise from M25 on some holes the minuses - good course and greens, friendly staff and members and an enjoyable afternoon overall the pluses.

Really enjoyed the course, nice to see all the deer’s. The bunkers could do with some work some of them the sand was hard. Could do with more signs to the next hole. Overall good course will definitely come back

Nice course but very busy

Nice course but was very busy and a few players chasing to play through which I thought was wrong.

Also the roughage around the course was too long and lost quite a few balls in the semi rough but I guess that's my fault for consistently hitting the balls in the rough.

All in all a nice course layout and enjoyable to play and will definitely play there again.

Also of note the cute deers made it more pleasurable to play with deers playing on most of the holes but did not interfere with out round.

Heavy rough

Played maylands many times over the years.

Now they’ve let the rough grow very deep, no second cut just fairway into jungle. Lost 3 balls today from not bad shots. If I was a full member id be asking why and looking for an alternative club.

Very friendly staff, quiet and well kept course.

As title above, met a few players going round who play the course regularly, all very approachable and welcoming.

Nice track!

Maylands is a nice pretty course and you have the addition of the wild deer that stray across the course which makes you feel like you are in the countryside when in fact you are just inside the M25 near Brentwood!

The course is a decent challenge to all levels of golfers and pre Covid had a good functions room and restaurant and hopefully it will get back to using these facilities soon.

The Greens are in need of a makeover as well as some of the bunkers on some holes as there can be be a number of patches which have been sanded but do not run as smooth as you would like. The car park is also woefully small for the number of people it attracts and should be enlarged. Overall though an enjoyable course.
