Penwortham Golf Club

I played penwortham golf club last Sunday.

On golf now it stated that 18 holes where open. When we arrived there was 5 holes closed.

I have email and called each time unhelpful in regards to refund the amount for the 5 closed holes.

I emailed with no response about 4 days ago.

I called this morning and the lady in the pro shop asked me to call on Monday.

If someone can please contact me to arrange a fund for the holes closed that would be great. As I work it's hard to contact you during the week.

First time playing here today, weather was a fine mist all day unfortunately, but that didn't take anything away from what is a great course.

The staff and everyone we met was friendly, the course was in great condition with a good variety of different holes.

The game move good at a good pace, with the greens in great condition, even with all the weather we have had lately.

Definitely looking forward to returning, thanks Penwortham.

Enjoyed a twilight round at Penwortham. Course was in good condition despite the very heavy rain the the morning. Shame the Pro shop wasn’t open at 3.30pm - maybe leave some cards outside if they’re not around?

A well kept parkland course

Not very long but some holes are tricky if you don’t know the course geography!!

Well kept & fast greens in general !

Some areas were still needing some tlc but good fairways otherwise

Course in great condition, just way too busy on the day .. But to be fair there was a competition on, which we did not know until after tee off. 2 ball and we had to come off at hole 13 due to extreme waiting times at each tee.

Absoluley brilliant from start to finish tee boxes fairways greens . Even though the 14 15 16 closed due to torrential rain played 11 12 13 twice to make up for it greens very true and good pace , very challenging ,didnt play well due to a bad back stuart shot 91 me 120 only because of my bad back , usually under 100, couldnt fault this course in anyway , will return in the future. You need to plot you way round a thinking mans course which i like ,need to make correct decisions, very tight in places but a good challenge, how it should be👍

Played penwortham for the first time even though holes 14 15 16 were closed due to the torrential rain on sat, sun ,we played 11,12,13 twice,to make up our 18, this course was in immaculate condition the tee boxes fairways, greens , greens very true good pace, its not an easy course ,need to plan you way round but i love this type of course as seve ballesteros was my hero, i struggled only because i had a bad back , will definatley be back ,could not fault this course in any way, just unfortunate due to weather and holes 14 15 16 being on lower level and so close to river ribble, but all in all you wouldnt have know how much rain it had put down , thanks john garry bradshaw, ashton in makerfield , wigan👍

I’ve played this course few times but this time was the worse I’ve seen it !! Very poor. Hole 9 just shouldn’t even be a hole at the moment. No point having that hole on winter green in the rough down hill.

First time playing here and what a lovely course it is, it must of taken a pounding with the rain last night but it was in great condition. The 13th hole was the highlight of the day
