Bunkers
From turning up to play with the new measures put in everything went ok . Course is in good condition but the bunkers could do with a rake every now and again . It was busy today but we went around in a pair in a good time . Overall a good day with decent weather.
Wet
Played well the course did considering the rain we have had !
Play around
A local course for me and played there many times over the years. Recently due to a disability I became unable to walk the course so I now need to hire a buggy. This is an additional expense to my round so luckily it’s not too expensive to play there. It’s a wide long course so suitable for players who are a bit wayward with shots and easy to manoeuvre around the course with the buggy. I would recommend this course due to its layout and ease of access around the course.
Really good course
Course was really good. Bunkers were not as good as last time I played.
In decent condition
Course was in good shape apart from the greens with giant drainage holes making putting a nightmare. Bobbling everywhere. The club shop was bare and everything (including the bar) was closed when we finished the round at around 6.30pm!?!? It was Good Friday so maybe they closed early. Great value for money though
Weather was blowing a gale and had just finished a deluge of rain but the course held up well and was a pleasure to play
Challenging Winter Three Ball
Very nice 4 hour round with plenty of challenges. Some rain for a few holes but did not cause problems. Greens in great nick. All three of us would play it again.
Great course
Played today and the course was in very good condition.
Bunkers has just all been racked, fairways were clear of falling leaves, greens were running well.
Well done to the grounds men this course is looking and playing very well for this time of year.
Cheaper to book on Tee Off Times only paid £23 for a two ball instead of £32 at the course.
We will be going back very soon.
Colin
Good layout. Good for moderate golfer.
In the middle of thus dry spell they have prioritised the greens ,which with the resources they seem to have is a good idea.
Layout of the course is good. Some big bunkers.
If a little bit more money could be spent it has the makings of a very good course.
Well worth the money though.
Great...but!
As always, thoroughly enjoyed playing Priors Hall, Corby. Good to see sand in the bunkers again! One big problem is allowing people on the course who cannot play (group in front of us) which slowed play down to a snails pace, and I couldn't believe it when I saw someone playing without a shirt on! Maybe course marshalling might be an idea? Will definitely be back.
Great Course well maintained
Priors Hall is an interesting course having been laid out in a former quarry. There is lots of variation and it's moderately challenging. It's well maintained and when I played, mid week, it wasn't too busy.
Could be great
First time playing after loads of recommendations. First hole gives a good birdie chance to start the round and break you in. The fairways were in great condition as was the surrounding areas. Plenty of trees but fairly wide receptive fairways for the most part. There are also a lot of strategically placed bunkers that need clearing of the tee on a lot of holes. My only critique was the greens, hence the 3 stars for course conditions and value. They are literally carpets of mose. This leads to inconsistent pace and roll which left putting a lottery on quite a few holes. Apparently it is very wet here in the winter so that is probably why. I'm sure the green keepers are on it so I will return as the rest of the course was clearly cared for. All in all positive and looking forward to returning when the greens have been sorted.
