Absolutely shocking - - - cheap but seriously don't waste your money

You might as well play in hay field...

Met up with other 3 golfers, said hello to couple of gents just finishing up who gave us the Spanish inquisition to why we were there.... Explaining no not members but all booked online via golf now, luckily as he must of ruled the course we were lucky enough to be able to continue down towards the first hole.

I hate to write a bad review but when your trying to tell the difference from a fairway to rough, weeds and daisy's everywhere, and alot of the holes if u miss a fairway by a yard don't bother looking to try and find your ball unless u want to be looking through knee length grass.

The greens..... Even worse, craters everywhere, what looked like black mould, pointless trying to aim one at the hole cos with all crap it didn't stand a chance

So if you want to be spoken to rudely and lose 24 balls in 9 holes this is the place to go

If the course would like to discuss we would be very happy to also

I don't think there are words to explain how disappointed all four of us were, we planned to play 18, but enough was enough

New complete refurb. Very tatty

The whole place has been un loved!! Greens are bad, front nine fairways left uncut and covered in white flowers (weeds). It’s a real shame that this course including all the buildings have had very little maintenance since the 90s.

Pro shop shut! No food available after our game, it was 30 degrees and they didn’t even have any ice for my drink.

Sat outside on 20 year old dirty picnic tables.

The whole place needs to be sold to investors that would need to spent a lot of money on it !!

Sad to see such a previously nice course go to pieces !!

Not a very for giving coarse

Fairways could do with a cut and some greens need to be better maintained

If you don’t drive straight you could be in a lot of trouble. Lost a lot of balls

A good day

The course is tight and challenging. A little back tracking from some greens to the next T-box but the layout is good. Greens were showing signs of lack of irrigation and general maintenance. But saying that will return again as the course in places showed massive promise.

Richmond Park golf course Thetford.

Tee off time 8.00am.

Arrived to find all building locked, ie club shop, reception, bar. Proceeded to first tee. After playing about 6 holes we noticed that there had not been much work done on the course appearance. The greens were bumpy and weedy, the fairways looked like they hadn’t been cut for weeks. Very disappointing, we had travelled over a hour to play the course. The online profile is very misleading.

Great value for money.

This was my first time around Richmond Park, the online reviews probably put me off to be honest. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. There are challenging holes with plenty

of water hazards. The fairways are long with some narrow pinch points. The course was fairly busy but I wasn’t hurried along which was nice, as it was a pleasant sunny day. The greens aren’t the best, but it is winter conditions and they weren’t water logged like some more expensive courses I’ve played locally recently. I paid £12 for 18 holes on a Saturday at midday. That kind of price cannot be beaten.

45 min drive and was closed

No sign of it being closed

Online or on the app drove 45mins to be told it’s closed and still not got a refund from what I saw it looked like a very shabby run down course and bar area.

Much better than last time!

Our course was on temporary greens so we took the decision to play here. We were surprised how good it was. The course layout is first class and pretty demanding. Tee boxes were good. Fairways were quite playable as were the greens. Some greens had bare mud patches on them, usually near the edges. The course is not in good condition but it’s quite playable although winter conditions make some of the par4s a stern test. It’s not over muddy, as we found out. The green fee probably reflects this. So, all in all, we enjoyed our round and will certainly be returning.

Stunning but Demanding

This golf course makes a stunning first impression. The fairways are beautifully open and the layout is impressive, though it's important to note it is quite long. We found ourselves thoroughly tired by the 18th hole.

I would strongly advise having a trolley. Carrying a full bag across this extensive course is a recipe for exhaustion and can detract from the enjoyment of the round.

While scenic, the course presents a significant challenge for beginners. The hole designs, combined with the length, require a level of skill and endurance that new players may not yet have. However, intermediate to experienced golfers will likely find it a rewarding and enjoyable one.

My main critique is the condition of some greens. A few were unfortunately in poor repair with sizeable holes and areas of water logging which significantly affected the putting surface and overall experience.

In summary: A demanding and picturesque course best suited for players with some experience and a trolley. With attention to green maintenance, it would be excellent.

Hidden gem

First time I played here.

Absolutely loved it!

The greens were a bit patchy with some kind of weed. But they were really soft and the ball ran very well.

The actual course layout was absolutely stunning. One of the most picturesque courses you will play on. You have to plot your way around and not hit a driver on every par 4 .

The staff were friendly and the guinness was great 👍

A real hidden gem.

I Will be returning next week to play it again .

Friendly and relaxed

This almost feels like a family run course. Members are friendly. The course is challenging especially if you don’t play conservatively. Lots of hazards to catch wayward drives.

Tees and greens are not in good condition in places but then the green fees reflect this.

Enjoy the challenge but don’t expect a championship course.

A Gem that needs a bit of care

It's a shame the greens seem neglected. It's a lovely course & very friendly. Apparently up for sale which might be why it's not so very well maintained at the moment.

Nice and quiet, Tee times after 4 are only 12£ so really affordable golf. Yes the greens are not the best kept but fairways are decent. For 12£ you can’t complain.
