Royal Ascot Golf Club

First time at Royal Ascot, and I really enjoyed it. The layout is interesting, challenging but not too much, greens are in very good conditions and the fairways too.

Staff at the proshop not really the more friendly ones, but we just signed in. Nice staff at the hole 19th.

The only negative was the pace of play of the group in front of us and no marshall around, so after waiting behind for 5 holes we asked to pass and they let us pass on the following hole.

With generous fairways, and varied par threes.

Would like to play here again in spring and summer.

Beautiful course. Cold morning had an impact on the conditions of play and the closure of some of the holes sadly.

Pro shop was ok but sadly didn't have balls with the course logo ( souvenir). 19th hole felt like being sat in a conference room and didn't really have great options for food. Friendly staff all round though. Two ladies in the bar were lovely and friendly.

3 of us played Royal Ascot on a dry Friday afternoon in late November. The course was being updated with new bunkers on holes 1,9,10 and 18 resulting in temporary greens. I wasnt aware of this when booking, but on being told this when checking in the Pro said just play as many extra holes as you want. Which I thought was a good way of getting around this.

Other than this the course was in great condition with fantastic greens and tee boxes. It was great to play and will be back in the new year to play what will be a quality course with the newly finished, 1,9,10 and 18th holes.

A welcoming, friendly club. Hopefully prices will remain affordable too.

We were not made aware when we booked that there were 4 temporary greens due to planned bunker maintenance. This was an ongoing project not just one day. There was no communication in the golf shop advising this.

Only found out when stood on 1st tee when it’s too late to make alternative arrangements.

Having taken time off work we would not have booked this if we had been made aware on GolfNow when booking.

Brilliant course, even in the wet! Greens and fairways were lovely despite the wet, other local courses were closed/closing and this stayed open.

The number of temporary greens due to works was disappointing, this slightly ruined the experience for us. No yardages for these were provided.

Several holes were dysfunctional, due to big maintenance work being carried out (bulldozers, digging, bunker work etc). I received no info, nor it's on their website. Nothing royal about this honestly.

Extremely unhappy with this course. Nothing on their website about major works taking place. There are temporary greens on many holes , well by that I mean a flag stuck in the middle of the fairway, not a green at all. On tops of that they are excavating new bunkers, lakes etc. The pace of play was SLOW. On one hole members rudely drove up in buggies and demanded to play through as they were in a competition and had to play extra holes. All this and the price was high compared to previous times i have played here. Appalling treatment of visitors. Avoid and do not pay full price to play a substandard course in this condition.

There were too many temporary greens in place which should have been made known to people when booked. We would not have played if we had known.

Some of the club members jumped a few holes cut in front of is to avoid these holes.

Lovely course, greens in good condition, some scenic holes. The problems started when i had finished my round, the gates do not automatically open to leave and staff would not give me the code for the gate, had to wait in the car park and ask a member who 'let me' follow him out! Strange given it was a great experience until trying to leave the venue!

Course was in good condition with superb consistent greens. Some bunkers were better than others (I understand there is an improvement programme ongoing).

We were a two ball and were behind 3s and 4s without being called through, especially when catching up on tees.

Great value for money, very friendly club felt very welcome great. polite and professional bar maid will definitely book again.

Decided last minute to play here. Welcoming staff, friendly members and testing technical 18 holes. Plenty of variety. You cannot just bomb your way round that's for sure. Will be back.
