About
The scenic ranchlands west of Fort Worth are full of rugged canyons, native wildflowers, and impressive elevation changes, all of which are incorporated into Canyon West’s design. Located atop Parker County’s highest summit, this 1997 18-holer incorporates all of those North Texas Hill Country features and more into its design. Waterfalls, miles of streams, exposed rocks, prairie grasses, wildflowers, and loads of oak, pecan, elm, and mesquite trees highlight the landscape.
Elevated tees offer views of the countryside. In addition to the scenery, golfers are welcomed by generous fairways that make this a fairly user-friendly course, especially given its reasonable yardage of 6,653 from the tips and the fact that water comes into play on only about half of the holes.
Other notes: During the week, the course offers seniors a two-for-one green fee. Walking is not allowed.
Getting there : From Ft. Worth, go west on I-20 and take exit 403. Cross left over the freeway and then make a quick right onto the service road. The entrance is 2.5 miles down the road.

Good day
Fun course a bit of a drive from the DFW area. I will play again
Good winter conditions
Very playable. Carts are well maintained with on board gps screens. Greens are very smooth, fast and hard. Unable to leave divot on green. Rough is penalizing but playable . Very hilly, lot of water.
Overall a great bargain. Well worth the effort to drive here.

Great Fun
The coarse has a great layout and the staff is great! Rarely if ever crowded. Excellent value!
Dried out
Even though we had a great day, the course really needed some water. The tee boxes are so hard you almost needed a hammer to drive a tee. The fairways were very firm and the greens were fine. Great layout and challenging.
Challenged
Played in September when temperatures were in the 90's. Course was in great condition, greens were firm. Several holes are blind and very challenging. I would love to give back. The Golfnow app keeps cost down and reasonable.
Hidden Gem!
This course was in great shape for the first day of fall. Super fun and challenging course. Would recommend for any golfer.
Gem of a course
Great value, great golf, great overall experience. I found this course through GolfNow and decided to book it. I didn’t realize that I booked it for the following day and the course starter still honored my reservation a day ahead of schedule. Great staff! I had the honor of having a conversation with the course owner (a successful local businessman) I truly valued and enjoy that conversation. The course was in great shape. The greens were true. I’ll be back often, if not for golf, to pick the brain of a great businessman and humble, down to earth man. That interaction for me was priceless.
