Canyon West Golf and Sports Club
About
The scenic ranchlands west of Fort Worth are full of rugged canyons, native wildflowers, and impressive elevation changes, all of which are incorporated into Canyon West’s design. Located atop Parker County’s highest summit, this 1997 18-holer incorporates all of those North Texas Hill Country features and more into its design. Waterfalls, miles of streams, exposed rocks, prairie grasses, wildflowers, and loads of oak, pecan, elm, and mesquite trees highlight the landscape.
Elevated tees offer views of the countryside. In addition to the scenery, golfers are welcomed by generous fairways that make this a fairly user-friendly course, especially given its reasonable yardage of 6,653 from the tips and the fact that water comes into play on only about half of the holes.
Other notes: During the week, the course offers seniors a two-for-one green fee. Walking is not allowed.
Getting there : From Ft. Worth, go west on I-20 and take exit 403. Cross left over the freeway and then make a quick right onto the service road. The entrance is 2.5 miles down the road.

Fun day of golf
Always enjoy our visits to Canyon West. The staff is very friendly and the course is very fun to play.
Excellent Course
Course is diverse, scenic and in excellent condition for the middle of Winter. Course layout has a lot of diverse challenges and opportunities to score well. Numerous water hazards and waterfalls. Elevated T-boxes, blind landing areas, large angle dogleg fairways, and some small greens make this course very interesting.
Always fun!
We play here a few times a month and always enjoy it! Course conditions are good but the wind is not your friend.
Christmas Golf
The course is in great shape especially considering the time of year. Staff was very friendly. I was disappointed they had no beer cart on a Saturday. Overall we had a great time.
Hadn’t played at Canyon West in years, what a treat it was to play it again. All of the new homes made it look so awesome!
What a day to play Canyon West! Totally different than I remembered from years past. First of all, we were received very warmly by a young man behind the counter. Saw that we had made a tee time and offered us the keys to the golf cart and send us to the first tee. All of the new houses changed the looks of the course I remembered. It an awesome change. The course was in excellent condition and still very challenging. It was a bit windy, but if you can’t play in the wind, stay home. Had a fantastic day with my buddies and we’ll be back soon.
Hidden gem
A short drive west of weatherford, well worth it. Great course.
Perfect
Course is a little far from my home but Course and price are perfect !
Great day of Golf
Beautiful course and views. Very open fairways and greens roll true
Great course
A friend of mine played Canyon West yesterday for the first time and in spite of all the recent rains, the course was in great shape. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the weather was terrific, so overall we had a great time. The course is fairly open and forgiving but has some challenges with several dog legs and some small and interestingly shaped greens. Part of it's charm is that it is a very scenic course through some rolling hills, ponds (most of which don't come much into play, and with stonework and waterfalls around several greens. Even though it's a bit of drive to get to, it was worth it and we'll definitely go back.
What a Day!
It was a dreary rainy morning as we left home today. Out west the weather cleared the closer we got to the course.
My son and I arrived 15 minutes before our time and they told us we were up next. Though there was a 5 some in front of us the first 9, we still finished the whole round in 3 hours and 15 minutes. We had to wait only once or twice, and then for only a few minutes. The greens were a tad slow due to the morning dew but other than that they were in great shape. The bunkers are nice and I only caught one of them thank goodness. Stay out of the rough!!!
Great Value
A fun course with a few blind tee shots, nice the way they incorporated the natural terrain and vegetation into the course design, more vertical changes than you would think near Weatherford!
