Canyon West Golf and Sports Club
About
The scenic ranchlands west of Fort Worth are full of rugged canyons, native wildflowers, and impressive elevation changes, all of which are incorporated into Canyon West’s design. Located atop Parker County’s highest summit, this 1997 18-holer incorporates all of those North Texas Hill Country features and more into its design. Waterfalls, miles of streams, exposed rocks, prairie grasses, wildflowers, and loads of oak, pecan, elm, and mesquite trees highlight the landscape.
Elevated tees offer views of the countryside. In addition to the scenery, golfers are welcomed by generous fairways that make this a fairly user-friendly course, especially given its reasonable yardage of 6,653 from the tips and the fact that water comes into play on only about half of the holes.
Other notes: During the week, the course offers seniors a two-for-one green fee. Walking is not allowed.
Getting there : From Ft. Worth, go west on I-20 and take exit 403. Cross left over the freeway and then make a quick right onto the service road. The entrance is 2.5 miles down the road.

Not your average layout
Great course for all handicaps. Beautiful layout with multiple changes in topography hill country like
Play this course. You will not be disappointed!
First time player at this course and I have to say, I was a little torn on how to write this review. On one hand, the overall setting and landscape of the couse was absolutely enjoyable. The layout was challenging, yet forgiving at the same time.If that even makes sense. Lacking course knowledge prevented me from taking many chances, with that said I was really wanting to follow my round with another 18. My only complaint was the conditions of the course. A couple of the greens were really rough, crab grasses and such were an issue. Other than that I enjoyed it and look forward to putting up some good scores in the future.
Fun & Sometimes Challenging Course
The course was fun, but at times very challenging. The course was in great shape for this time of year. The staff was very friendly & helpful. Would definitely play this course again.
No title
Canyon West is One of the ten places I play. Not listing all ten, but I drive from North Richland Hills to here play a round of golf.
Always a fun day at Canyon West
We have played this course several times even though it is outside our normal playing area in DFW. Course layout, staff and value keep us coming back for more. Several "signature" holes to play here! We will be back!
Very nice
Everyone was helpful and very friendly. The course layout made it easy for a first time experience.
The staff is very friendly. We had a great time playing the pace was very slow. Of course it was 94 degrees in febuary so the course was full
Fair fun course.
This is really one of my favorite courses to play. I''m an OTR driver, and they don't mind my bob tailing in. The staff is always friendly, and the clubhouse is just beautiful. The course is in great condition, especially for this time of year. One of the best bang for your buck courses I've played. I play all over, as often as I can. So the once a month, is a little off.
Beautiful features, hills, valleys and lakes, water falls
Enjoyable course to play, redoing all sand traps and beautiful scenes
Like all the improvements being made..especially in the sand traps.
Always have enjoyed playing this course regardless of my scoring. Beautiful views as far as the eye can see from about ever hole.
Great course west of FW
One of my favorite courses, and would play more often if it wasn't for the 45 minute drive. Great layout, fun to play, enough challenges for all players, great scenic views. Grass in the fairways was getting a little thin, and the greens were hard to figure speed on, but it's December, and too be expected.
Highly Reccomended
Great course! Highly recommend! All aspects of the course were awesome.
Fun course
Greens were slow but rolled okay. However I played right after 3 days of rain so that might have been the reason. Course was nice though.
Awesome
Had a great time on this course, pace was awesome. Play was great and even the wife had a great time!
Good Value
This course is very close to being able to be an 80.00 a round course. They need to put some time into the bunkers and the 15th hole. Every bunker was full of water. I get we just had some rain but every one of the bunkers were unplayable. The 15th has a great layout but the hole is trashed. If they fix this and the crab grass problem, it becomes one of the best around. The layout is absolutely gorgeous. I've lived in West Fort Worth for 8 yrs and have never heard of this course! I will definitely play this again! It's well worth the drive. They also need to have more food options in the morning. The restaurant is owned by a different group so who knows. That being the case the pro shop could stock some snacks.
Speechless
All I can say is that if you haven't made the drive out here to play this course, you are missing out! I can't speak higher praise. I had my best round ever at this course and I think it was simply because I was taken back by the beauty of nature and it was extremely relaxing.
