About
The scenic ranchlands west of Fort Worth are full of rugged canyons, native wildflowers, and impressive elevation changes, all of which are incorporated into Canyon West’s design. Located atop Parker County’s highest summit, this 1997 18-holer incorporates all of those North Texas Hill Country features and more into its design. Waterfalls, miles of streams, exposed rocks, prairie grasses, wildflowers, and loads of oak, pecan, elm, and mesquite trees highlight the landscape.
Elevated tees offer views of the countryside. In addition to the scenery, golfers are welcomed by generous fairways that make this a fairly user-friendly course, especially given its reasonable yardage of 6,653 from the tips and the fact that water comes into play on only about half of the holes.
Other notes: During the week, the course offers seniors a two-for-one green fee. Walking is not allowed.
Getting there : From Ft. Worth, go west on I-20 and take exit 403. Cross left over the freeway and then make a quick right onto the service road. The entrance is 2.5 miles down the road.

Hill country feel in our backyard
Our group really enjoyed this course. One player had never been there but wants to go back now.
Fun
Greens rolled great. Fairways were in good condition not great.
Course is lots of and was well worth the $35 tee time we had. Definitely worth playing again and again.
Great course & a great layout!
The young man that worked in the pro shop was vey courteous & helpful. I liked him very much. I wished I had gotten his name. I will next time I go there. Love this golf course!
GOOD CONDITION
First of all , greens are Champions Bermuda , not bent as one reviewer said . They were being kept long and played very slow for how they looked . Course is in nice shape but design is easy and boring . All but two greens flat . Seems it was laid out by non-professional designer . Great for lowering your handicap . Healthy drive from Metroplex . Hawks Creek in-town way better . Too many holes played 90 degree dogleg and seemed contrived . Par 3 12th has tree blocking green entrance...really?
Wide open
Relatively easy wide open course, with enough challenge not to be booring to the good golfer( that's not me) everything green from rains and course well maintained.

Fantastic course!!
Absolute beauty. I played on a Tuesday so I got finish in less than 3 hours. Course was in phenomenal shape, greens were nice and rolls true. Staff was very friendly. Absolute beauty.
Tip: if you don't know the greens, and on some hole it look like it will break one way but actually break the other way, So if you question yourself just play at the hole
A course you need to play
Canyon West is a long way to drive...we drove from Denton...but it was definitely worth it. The artifacts they have on a number of the holes is really nice and adds a lot of character to the course. The water falls add a nice backdrop on some holes. This golf course is always in great shape. If you haven't played this course you should and you will not be disappointed.
Always a good round
Canyon West is our favorite course. We don't play it as much as we like because the price keeps going up. They had just punched the greens so that is the reason for the condition review. They were also finishing up a tournament so the service at the bar was less than good. (it was bad) They were busy
quality course great value
course has been improved since last time i played this course several years back, great golf for the weather we had, cart path only , extreme amounts of rain, played between rain showers. cant wait to play when dry.

This course has excellent views of the country side. Always well maintained and courteous staff. The course has all the challenge I want and is fun to play.

Great course
This is a beautiful wide open couse. Wide fairways make it a forgiving course. it's hard to hit the ball in an unplayable situation. Maybe my new favorite course!

Even Tho the grass was dry it's still a nice challenging course.. I would recommend it to anyone.!! Best time to play is in summer time..
This course has been significantly improved under the new ownership
Greens were in good shape for this time of year. Greens rolled true. Several fairways were bare. Would like to see the fairways overseeded.
