About
The scenic ranchlands west of Fort Worth are full of rugged canyons, native wildflowers, and impressive elevation changes, all of which are incorporated into Canyon West’s design. Located atop Parker County’s highest summit, this 1997 18-holer incorporates all of those North Texas Hill Country features and more into its design. Waterfalls, miles of streams, exposed rocks, prairie grasses, wildflowers, and loads of oak, pecan, elm, and mesquite trees highlight the landscape.
Elevated tees offer views of the countryside. In addition to the scenery, golfers are welcomed by generous fairways that make this a fairly user-friendly course, especially given its reasonable yardage of 6,653 from the tips and the fact that water comes into play on only about half of the holes.
Other notes: During the week, the course offers seniors a two-for-one green fee. Walking is not allowed.
Getting there : From Ft. Worth, go west on I-20 and take exit 403. Cross left over the freeway and then make a quick right onto the service road. The entrance is 2.5 miles down the road.

these people are always so very nice. make you feel welcome and that they are glad you are there.
Course condition
This course is in great shape right now. Winter was hard on most greens in the area. Cayon West's greens are in good shape. They also have beautiful views all over this course.
A really nice course
Changes that have been made and those that appear to be in progress make this an extremely nice course. It has some very challenging holes on it and it is very pleasing to the eye! I will definitely play it again!

Personal Best
The course was in great shape. The work the owners have been doing are showing. The greens were soft and accepting during my round. The fairways were in good shape and not all marked up, which considering they had had a couple of tournaments recently it was in very good shape.
Good deal
We got a special and we're very pleased with the price. The pro shop staff were exter helpful. We had a tee time but showed up early and they got use right on. Could not be happier
worth the drive
my son and i went on a saturday. drove an hour to get there. he had never been, and was very empressed. i have played it a handfull of times. the new owners are taking great care of it. the dormant greens were perfect. fast and true. many of the holes are tight driving with ob and hazards all around. great hot dog at the turn too. a great outing would be to play sugartree and canyon west .
Definitely a do over! Course is looking good!
CW is shaping up nicely, the new owner is cleaning it up and continues to make it a nice visit with some good golf. The water features have had some good attention given to them and I look forward to what they are going to work on next.
Enjoyable Time
I play this course every chance I get even without a great price. It's close to home, the people are always very friendly, they appreciate their customers, the course is fun, and the landscape of Western theme is great. It's just a fun time to play at Canyon West. My family, my son and grandson really enjoy playing there. Every time they come to visit that's where they want to play. I highly recommend it.
The restaurant has a great view over looking the entire course!! Must see !!!
Great staff!! Good people, little far to drive, but well worth it! I loved the course, and found it to be a very fun to play!!! Like the terminator quote!!! " I'LL BE BACK"!!
Enjoyable for all levels
This course is easy enough for the average golfer to have fun and possibly have a low score, but it is also a place where the more accurate golfers can enjoy placing the shot and reading the elevation changes accurately. Great fun for all in our group.
The 19th Hole was beautiful, and the Hot Dog and other snacks between nines was great. Staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome.

This was a great course for The time of year and the money we spent, The staff there was exceptional.
Hidden Gem
Awesome!!!! Course is in great shape, greans are soft, layout is challenging but not insane. The club house is beautiful and has an upstairs bar/restaurant that over looks 3 or 4 golf holes. This place was the best deal for the money I have found in DFW. Only down side is the distance, even from Fort Worth it is 30+ minute drive, I'm sure from Dallas it would be nearly an hour. O and the bartender girls are pretty good looking I might add.
Excellent experience
Course was on good condition for texas this time of year. Staff is first class. Played this course many times and always had a vey good experience.
70 degrees during December!
70 degrees on 12/17/13!! Love the course because it's not crowed, normally which makes for a less stress-free round. 2 guys I joined up made for a nice round. We also enjoyed the bar service with a choice of beverages that is lengthy. Hard to believe that the BLUEs @ 6236 is rated @ 68.7 and SLOPE at 116.....seems more challenging than that!

I love playing Canyon West.
Beautiful area. The elevated tee boxes have to be experienced. The greens are well kept and roll true. Dining in the club house tops off the day, overlooking almost the entire course. Must play !!!

Great golf course with beautiful scenery around
I haven't played out here for a while, and the course is very well maintained with some gorgeous holes. Waterfall features around the course are beautiful. The hotdogs are great too!!
Fun course with a lot of elevation changes.
I have played this course 3 times in the last 30 days. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite courses. The only negative is the sand traps are dirt and not sand.
