Canyon West Golf and Sports Club
About
The scenic ranchlands west of Fort Worth are full of rugged canyons, native wildflowers, and impressive elevation changes, all of which are incorporated into Canyon West’s design. Located atop Parker County’s highest summit, this 1997 18-holer incorporates all of those North Texas Hill Country features and more into its design. Waterfalls, miles of streams, exposed rocks, prairie grasses, wildflowers, and loads of oak, pecan, elm, and mesquite trees highlight the landscape.
Elevated tees offer views of the countryside. In addition to the scenery, golfers are welcomed by generous fairways that make this a fairly user-friendly course, especially given its reasonable yardage of 6,653 from the tips and the fact that water comes into play on only about half of the holes.
Other notes: During the week, the course offers seniors a two-for-one green fee. Walking is not allowed.
Getting there : From Ft. Worth, go west on I-20 and take exit 403. Cross left over the freeway and then make a quick right onto the service road. The entrance is 2.5 miles down the road.

Golfer Reviews
Great course
First time playing Canyon West. The course was in good condition but a couple of “sand spots” on the greens. Fairways in good condition and greens fast. Loved the elevated tee boxes on 8 & 9 but played with a front moving in with 30 mph winds and made the tee shots challenging. It’s a good course and I’ll play it again.
Excellent Golf and great December day
Excellent December day of golf with weather, course conditions and pace of play better than typical for December. Mostly dormant but still a little grass around. Green ran smooth (obviously quite fast). Tees and fairways were good for this time of year. Pace of play was good for mid week as we played in just over 3 hours. The value was also great with hot deal tee time and the weekly email coupon.
Course layout is awesome.
Not ideal conditions due to weather, so it was cart path only. The course is fabulous and looking forward to playing it again in the spring when it will be in perfect condition.
Coming around
The course has changed management since I played last so I decided to go back. It was in much better condition and you can tell it's coming around. There was still some damage areas on a few greens but overall a good condition. There are some fun holes but I hate 18. The tee box has to be one of the worst and strangest designs, I get blind shots but not a fan of this one.
Fun Nice course
really well maintained course nice bit of changes in holes i would def play here again
Excellent round at record pace
Great round at a great course in excellent condition at an awesome price. Completed the round in just over two hours (as a single, I did play through a few groups). All greens and tees in excellent condition. Love the course landscape and views.
Has always been a fantastic course
I have been playing Canyon West for many years, helped out as a marshal in trade for rounds. My wife and I were engaged on hole 5 when the waterfall used to work. The previous owner did not manage the course well, Now it has been given to the college, and I see improvement. Hope it continues to improve. The group of 5 kids in front of the 2 of us wouldn't let us play through, there needs to be a Marshall especially on the weekends.
