Beautiful views at Seaford Head Photo submitted by u8901909 on 03/13/2017
3 hours for 10 holes
Shocking service, over a 5 hour round no help from pro shop it’s a shame as been a few times but this is shocking. To take 3 hours to do 8 holes is not good enough when you pay £40 per person and travel over an hour to get here unacceptable
Tranquil and easy going
My favourite golf course ever, ive been playing there for a few years. As soon as you arrive theres a tranquil vibe about it , at the top part of the course you get beautiful coastal views, the course is easy to play but if the wind gets up can be quite a challenge . The 18th hole is spectacular as you drive from a clifftop down into the fairway . 19th is lovely with seats outside to watch golfers approaching .
Soggy everywhere else!
Loads of rain in previous couple of days so chose Seaford head as the course is on chalk.. bunkers were full of water but otherwise the course was on excellent condition. Thoroughly enjoyed the round and the pint in "the view" afterwards.
Great views, a honest test of golf.
Firstly a warm welcome from the golf pro, as received by us, goes a long way, managed to get us on our way earlier than expected as the course was quiet enough.
Had a quick warm up in the nets, putted on the brilliant but brutal putting green!
Headed up to the first tee , already puffed out, I'm a bit of a trek ....
Some of the most scenic holes you're ever likely to come across ....the 18th is just spectacular.
It was relatively quick out there, until we caught another 2 ball up, who seemed like they just didn't want to let anyone through, no matter how long it took them on the holes, so after 7 holes we replayed holes 6 and 7, yes still back up with them within another 5 holes...so sat back....
Some tricky distances off the yellow tees for ladies, mainly carry, as some feature an abundance of gorse in front of them....which I love.
Greens were in brilliant shape, nice and true even with the mega breaks on a couple.
Bunkers had sand in them, always a bonus....even if most people are clueless how to use a rake unfortunately!
Maybe we need a little lesson to be given on divots, pitch mark repair and rakes to be shown prior to any round, along with a signature from them saying that they accept the conditions. And fines!
Enjoy playing here, it's an hour and a half away from home, but we feel it's worth it to play somewhere as unique.
Hole 12 beats me up each time....always just short.
Lovely gunners in the bar afterwards, to enjoy the views and relax after a work out, certainly not a course for the unfit person.
We shall return...many thanks
Excellent course, stunning coastal views!
A superb course, some really memorable holes and wonderful coastal views. A tough start with inaccessible gorse catching any stray shots, lots of holes with elevation changes really add to the variety of the course. And a spectacular finish with the downhill par 5 18th one of the highlights of the round. Very good prices too on a Saturday afternoon (£20 for me, £12 for my son) which encouraged us to make the 80 mins drive down. Definitely a must-play course!
First time playing this great course
Absolutely loved this challenging course. First time I’ve played we had all weathers thrown at us and I survived cardiac hill. Can’t wait to go back. This course is why I love golf.
Absolutely stunning!
I was playing here for the first time and walked the course on my own in absolutely perfect weather. It took me just under 3 hours to play 18 holes and I had an absolute blast! Fairways and greens are beautiful and the course is somewhat challenging but won't punish you too hard either. Overall an epic experience and I would gladly come back if I come by again.
Pace of play was slow. Too many people booked in. Greens very well kept and nice course generally with good views. Might be difficult in strong winds as very exposed.
Excellent course but only twelve holes open so a waste of my monthly golfpass
my fault! I should have checked the course's website before driving 23 miles to play 12 holes.
I do like the course and everyone is very friendly.
What views and layout.
Cracking find this place, lovely semi hidden clubhouse,
A very hilly and undulating course, set up on the cliff tops and criss crossed by many public paths, dog walkers, hikers and more, very public, but don't let that put you off, get your breath back in sync and enjoy the views, stunning as in areas, cracking last hole, par 3s are superb but all different styles....a brilliant test of club selection.
Course is in good condition, greens running well, just wish people would actually make an effort to repair pitch marks, there can't be too many blind golfers playing here? No excuses including lack of effort in the bunkers, wether it's visitors or members there's really no reason why greens aren't spotless or bunkers all raked.....sort it out fellow golfers!
The greenkeepers aren't your slaves!
Great Municipal Course
So it’s not long but to score well shot placement is key. Greens in great condition as are the fairways. Make sure you are fit as holes 11 and 12 present steep climbs(12th locally known as Cardiac Hill).
The views are some of the best you can get anywhere especially those of the Downs, Seven Susters white cliffs and Seaford Bay.
And if you want signature holes, then the 18th is iconic.
First time here
Myself and friend turned up and was told that another player was joining us. Didn’t know about this but all good as he was able to advise us on the course as he had played here before.
Play was a little slow due to lots of players ahead.
Good day out as weather was perfect. Lovely views along the coast.
Didn’t get a chance to visit the cafe.
What a view.
Lovely course, very clear layout for a newcomer. Yardage a bit lacking in places but overall a fantastic day out and what value. Tricky and challenging. Would recommend.
Absolutely lovely course
It might look short distance but it is quite technical course and therefore great to play.
