Fabulous value
Considering the recent rain, this course was in fantastic condition from tees to greens. Firm greens that were challenging through undulations - a great test.
It’s a hotel course with lots of groups visiting and playing - yet none of the pitchmark issues you can often see elsewhere on similar courses - and the speed of play was spot on.
Some of the holes are a little similar (downhill dog legs to the left) but overall, a variety of holes and great challenge. We paid £20 pp - great value
San Miguel was fresh and cold and the reception from the team warm and inviting in both the pro shop and bar.
Well done Staverton - we’ll definitely be back
Incredible surroundings
Nice open course ya can let driver rip, greens are massive and true, sand is a little thin in the bunkers but I shot my best ever 18 hole score
Good day
Course was reasonably quiet. No waiting at all. Staff were friendly. Greens had recently been plugged but were still pretty true. Flags were in a fair but challenging position. The rough was well controlled and only an issue if you really weren’t meant to be there such as out of bounds. Prison was denuded of stock but had the basics needed. All in all a good course on a nice sunny day. What’s not to like!
Sunday golf
Booked to play with my son. Turned up early to have a practice on the putting green are . Went to 1st hole and had a good chat with the course Marshall .Started our round on time but we were queuing by the time we got to the 2nd hole it didn’t get much better as on every hole we had a 5 - 10 minute wait to tee off . The group in front had found out that a four-ball in front of them had someone who in their words (must be his first ever game of golf ) as he was hacking up the fairways . Still overall a good day as you just get on and play your own game .. nearly 6 hours to finish 18 holes .but still had a good day overall .
Nice Parkland Couse
A mature parkland course that is hilly in places. Course was well presented with only a few scruffy areas. There are plenty of bunkers and they are big in size but not too deep. Greens were in good condition and a sensible pace.
Clubhouse didn't offer any facilities early doors but you could get either a sausage or bacon bap from the pro shop. Well worth a visit.
Great value for casual weekend play
Weather helped make it a very enjoyable round.
Course in decent condition with the greens fairly receptive despite the dry conditions.
Putting pace was on the slow slide.
Just over 6000yds on the yellow tees and some undulation gave character to some of the approach shots - highlights being holes 10-13.
Recommended for those casual golfers not members who wish to play weekend golf.
This course was top drawer
Fabulous day .
Great course.
Staff superb members courteous.
Millionaires golf.
Going back in two weeks.
Enjoyable round of gold
Lovely well kept course, greens in good condition, however bunkers were unplayable duet to lack if sand and filled with water from recent rainfall.
Overall enjoyed the round and it was good value
A joy to play
We were looking for a good quality, interesting, well maintained course, as we heading North up the M1.
Staverton park was excellent. A driving range a short walk from the pro shop and a great putting and chipping green too. The pro shop didnt have too much in it but we werent there to shop.
The course was in great condition although there were a couple of bunkers that were GUR but that didn't put us off. It was a great course, mainly tree lined, big and tricky greens that were quick!
You need to follow the guide books to know where to aim off the tee as some of the dog legs were a real challenge. But loved it.
We used our vouchers to play so it was free to us. But a great round. Highly recommended.
Nice course, great price
The course was in good condition and pretty much empty, so millionaire golf for such a cheap price. May have been due to England playing in quarterfinals
Too many golfers on the course. 3 hours to play 9 holes
Left after 9, didnt play the back 9 logged a complaint with the course
