A joy to play
We were looking for a good quality, interesting, well maintained course, as we heading North up the M1.
Staverton park was excellent. A driving range a short walk from the pro shop and a great putting and chipping green too. The pro shop didnt have too much in it but we werent there to shop.
The course was in great condition although there were a couple of bunkers that were GUR but that didn't put us off. It was a great course, mainly tree lined, big and tricky greens that were quick!
You need to follow the guide books to know where to aim off the tee as some of the dog legs were a real challenge. But loved it.
We used our vouchers to play so it was free to us. But a great round. Highly recommended.
Nice course, great price
The course was in good condition and pretty much empty, so millionaire golf for such a cheap price. May have been due to England playing in quarterfinals
Too many golfers on the course. 3 hours to play 9 holes
Left after 9, didnt play the back 9 logged a complaint with the course
Almost millionaires golf!
We started in bright sunshine and the first hole looked very enticing with grass mown attractively leading the eye towards the green around the slopped curve leading to the right. The course was in much better shape than the last time I played it and the first hole was a fair representation of what followed- better maintained and presented than the last outing. Hope it continues to be so well cared for as I’ve played it for many years and have always had a soft spot for it. We did get drenched for a hole or more but then the sun shone making all right with the world once again.
The price of a couple of pints afterwards was a shock to the system (perhaps I’m just getting old) but the bar team were friendly and welcoming and we stayed for a coffee as the heavens gave forth once again b
Great Course
Played on Bank Holiday Monday. Staff very friendly, booking on line was easy and I phoned to reserve a buggy. Course was in great shape despite the wet year so far and more rain over the weekend. Great layout of holes and it’s a good challenge. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.
Great condition
The course was in great condition and good value at £30 for a Friday morning round. Special mention to the great feeling fairways
Matured Nicely
I was a member for five years from the late nineties. Always a nice course, with no two holes the same, but it has come into its own. If I had to play one hole for the rest of my life the double-dogleg, par 5 11th would be a strong contender.
Pretty and Pretty Challenging
This is a great parkland course and not at all boring like some parkland ones.
You need to think about where you are going to place you ball as there are some tight fairways and some massive bunkers.
We played on a Sat afternoon and the round took 4 hours 10 mins which was OK considering there were a number of 4 balls on the course.
The club house is nice with a decent changing room and pleasant bar.
Fabulous condition, super friendly staff too.
Superb course and the conditions were excellent considering the 6 months of continuous rain we've had.
Staff were most welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful.
There was a four ball of seniors ahead of us who made no effort to allow our speedy two ball play through. As experienced members this was a little dissapointing. However, a great course and no golfer would be disappointed in playing a round here.
Great course due to heavy rain was really wet in places but overall a great course
Good challenging course
Course was in great condition for this time of year. Holes were challenging but looked great!
One point I’d make out would be better signs for which hole we are on. Walking from 9th to the 10th we did get lost. And was also not aware of the shared tee box for 9 and 18.
Great value winter golf
Another great round at Staverton. The course was suffering a little with the last 2 holes closed due to being waterlogged and trolley’s not permitted, although we were offered the chance to play 1, 15 and 16 again which would have enabled a 19 hole round. In the end 16 was sufficient and the overall condition was great.
