Great course
I first played here in 2019 as part of a weekend golf break. Liked the course then and having played our weekend away last year at nearby Hellidon Lakes, we all preferred Staverton hence our return this July. Played the other day and already in great condition despite all of the rain we’ve had. A few wet spots on the course as expected but didn’t affect the round. Greens were a little slow but probably as we played Thursday before the pre-weekend cut. Overall great course, facilities and friendly staff.
Sociable Course
Very sociable and open course.
Staff extremely friendly from the club pro to the bar staff.
A good test of golf
Unfortunately the weather conditions were not good. It was catty only but due to my wife’s recent knee operation they allowed her an electric trolley. It was too slippery for her so we came off. The pro staff were great and gave us a voucher to return when the weather improves. Excellent service. Will look forward to it as I enjoy playing there
Good course
Good course ..but greens were bad...slow and bumpy
Staverton
The best value for money golf course I have played
good challenge and given the time of year the course was in excellent condition. proper test.
Great Value for money
We played on a cold February Sunday afternoon, and despite all the cold weather, frost and heavy rain we had in January the course is in remarkably good condition. Fairways grassy, hardly a need to pick and place, and the greens running really well. All for £20. Well done Staverton
£20 Round
Tee’d off at 12.20 on a Sunday. 3.30hr round. All greens in play and course was in reasonable condition for this time of year. Tees where forward but still a tough challenge as lots of hole play to uphill greens. Overall great value at £20.
N.B. Members and guests could do better in repairing divots and pitch marks.. Did not use shop and bar as was closed. Can see how this annoyed some.
Nice course, lovely countryside.
Great course and interesting layout. Unraked bunkers which appears to be the norm these days. 2 members jumped in front of us on the 15th (from the 2nd?) without asking. A bit rude given we were pushed for daylight. Only coffee available before our round and clubhouse all locked up when we came in at 5pm.
Frozen golf for full price
Played and lobe this course bit golfpass charging full fee in advance is a joke. Course was frozen, greens unplayable and still cost full price due to having to pay in full a week in advance. Will not be using golf pass again !!
No information boards on the tee box. A simple map of the hole showing the bunkers, water hazards, etc would be an improvement.
Again very slow round, and NO shop open on the way through
Everytime I play here I find myself having to wait a good 5-10 minutes on every tee! 6 minutes between tee offs isn’t enough time. Also at 3:55pm after finishing the front 9 holes we wanted a drink and bits to eat for the last 9 holes and the halfway house, and the pro shop was SHUT on a Saturday afternoon before 4pm!! Don’t offer tee times out if you’re going to close the only place to get food and drink on the way through after 9 holes. The course itself was very good but it lets itself down on the 6 hour round and the lack of amenities massively.
A Quick round after work
Fairways are in great condition. Greens were slow. All in all a nice track
