Golfer Reviews
Again very slow round, and NO shop open on the way through
Everytime I play here I find myself having to wait a good 5-10 minutes on every tee! 6 minutes between tee offs isn’t enough time. Also at 3:55pm after finishing the front 9 holes we wanted a drink and bits to eat for the last 9 holes and the halfway house, and the pro shop was SHUT on a Saturday afternoon before 4pm!! Don’t offer tee times out if you’re going to close the only place to get food and drink on the way through after 9 holes. The course itself was very good but it lets itself down on the 6 hour round and the lack of amenities massively.
A Quick round after work
Fairways are in great condition. Greens were slow. All in all a nice track
Fabulous Autumn Views
I saw this come up at a time slot when my playing partner was also available, couldn't miss the opportunity.
This is a fantastic rolling course through an undulating landscape, with several blind holes where you have to hit and get it right to make your shot into the green or lay up.
A large variety of tree species and, at this time of year, an absolute riot of colour. If I lived nearby, I'd be happy to walk the course and take in the views.
Great golf, nobody in from of us and a 4-ball behind, which we soon pulled clear of.
Afterwards, into the bar for a pint and a freshly made sandwich with superb chips.
If you get the opportunity try it out.
Slow play & Late tee
Overall the staff very good.
Unfortunately tee times were running 25 minutes late.
Also green were very wooley and not in great condition.
Hotel course
Play this course but expect it to be slow, the club house is welcoming and shuts very early. The pro shop staff are very nice and knowledgeable. But the conditions of the greens and bunkers do not merit high praise. Hotel course that is slow on the weekends.
Very hilly and facilities tired …
Overall a bit disappointing… clubhouse and facilities very tired and in need of investment. Course as in reasonable condition given the weather but very hilly , up and down and greens not the best. Looks better online than in reality…
Family weekend stay
Challenging but fair golf course. We played it in the summer when the fairways were hard and fast. Very undulating layout and I’m sure most of the par 4’s and 5’s were doglegs. Cannot remember seeing the pins we were playing to from the tee. Unless you go beyond the boundaries of the course you should be able to find your ball. Rough not too penal. Really enjoyable round.
Great challenge as nd value
We’ve played here twice and really and really enjoyed the course on both occasions. It is a good challenge and in great condition.
The only thing that let it down was the restaurant was very slow and understaffed, it took a long time to lace an order. The food was good once it arrived.
Phew what a scorcher!
Bit of an underwhelming greeting from shop staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the scenic course, quite challenging elevation changes, I struggled to get the pace of the greens, which were in very good condition, very busy afternoon on the course meant pace of play was a bit slow.
Despite these minor gripes I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and am looking forward to playing here again
Great course, snails pace play
Brilliantly laid out course in immaculate condition, with a great driving range and great warm up facilities. Unfortunately the round was spoiled by possibly the slowest play I have ever experienced. Having teed off at 4.09, we reached the 7th tee after 2 hours... It was that bad. Unsure if it was members or a society but the 2 groups in front had no regard for other players on the course. Shall likely not go back having experienced the longest round I've played in Northants (completed the round in just shy of 6 hours..)
First round this year
The course was in good condition
The bunkers were patchy some were ok most need more sand and the weeds removed
Some heavy traffice areas need to recover winter damage but this doesn't affect play
The Pro shop are always helpful
Our round was very enjoyable
