Family weekend stay
Challenging but fair golf course. We played it in the summer when the fairways were hard and fast. Very undulating layout and I’m sure most of the par 4’s and 5’s were doglegs. Cannot remember seeing the pins we were playing to from the tee. Unless you go beyond the boundaries of the course you should be able to find your ball. Rough not too penal. Really enjoyable round.
Great challenge as nd value
We’ve played here twice and really and really enjoyed the course on both occasions. It is a good challenge and in great condition.
The only thing that let it down was the restaurant was very slow and understaffed, it took a long time to lace an order. The food was good once it arrived.
Phew what a scorcher!
Bit of an underwhelming greeting from shop staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the scenic course, quite challenging elevation changes, I struggled to get the pace of the greens, which were in very good condition, very busy afternoon on the course meant pace of play was a bit slow.
Despite these minor gripes I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and am looking forward to playing here again
Great course, snails pace play
Brilliantly laid out course in immaculate condition, with a great driving range and great warm up facilities. Unfortunately the round was spoiled by possibly the slowest play I have ever experienced. Having teed off at 4.09, we reached the 7th tee after 2 hours... It was that bad. Unsure if it was members or a society but the 2 groups in front had no regard for other players on the course. Shall likely not go back having experienced the longest round I've played in Northants (completed the round in just shy of 6 hours..)
First round this year
The course was in good condition
The bunkers were patchy some were ok most need more sand and the weeds removed
Some heavy traffice areas need to recover winter damage but this doesn't affect play
The Pro shop are always helpful
Our round was very enjoyable
Challenging course, great staff, will play again!
We had a great afternoon, the course was in good shape and the terrain made it challenging. It was a bit slow (4.5 hours), but it was Saturday afternoon on a beautiful sunny day.
Will definitely play again!
Bank Holiday Golf Day
Overall a good experience playing this course with a few friends today. The sprinkler system was not working so the greens did play a little slower than we would of liked and other players were permitted to cut in on the 10th with little consequence. Something for the club to be mindful of.
Thank you
Good course
Being a little over critical here as first ever bad experience at staverton , greens bobbly and need some tlc
Tee at 7:40 , played front 9 and arrived at 10th to find a seniors fourball on fairway and a four and a two ball on the tee ., that’s not on at all , we all know how that ruins the day so we abandoned so did the guy behind us …
Singles match
Course good and pro shop and facilities, except bar closed at 4:30pm so they must lose lots of revenue and unhappy customers
Clubhouse only opens the bar at weekends……very poor!
The course was very wet in places but then it was to be expected due to the weather we have had but my main gripe is the bar in the clubhouse is only open at weekends…..we wanted a drink after 4 hours playing golf, so we had to go and find a pub!
Everything you need
Really enjoyed this course as always, good facilities here with a driving range, putting green and chipping green with large bunker.
Some holes with a bit of thinking but overall a nice steady track.
Tee boxes in great condition considering the time of year with only 1 matt in use. Greens very good.
Nice course
General conditions of the course and greens were good for late November. A decent fair test for all standards of player. Will definitely be back again.
Consistently slow course
It's a nice course, well laid out and enjoyable. But, in my experience it attracts folks who clearly rarely play who are slow and don't understand the concept of letting people play through. In my round a 4 ball was 2 groups in front of us. With a fairly tight deadline of fading light 3 groups that caught us up gave up and walked off the back nine knowing they wouldn't complete their rounds. That's not fair! The 4 ball let the group infront of us through on the 17th! Leaving us to watch the numpties play the last as the darkness fell. This is not the first time, in fact I have never got round in under 4 hours on this course.
