Worth a try but check schedule.

Lovely 9/18 in great condition. Only problem was the tee time I booked on golf now followed immediately after 8 groups of 4 playing a seniors comp. 2hrs 45 for 9 meant I didn't bother with the second 9. Perhaps leave a gap after comps before advertising visitor tee times? Will try again later in the year.

members are rude always look down on guests

For 3 times In a row I have played here, we have been stopped from teeing off , due to privileged members wanting to play through, we were a 2 ball they were a 4 ball the first time, I have only managed to complete 18 holes here once, this is due to the massive delays on the first tee, and people not letting others play through, completed Rio off if you only managed 9 holes. I love the layout of the course and would happily be a member, but I cannot stand the attitude we get when visiting, especially from the female members, will not return !

Friendly members

There isn’t a reception desk or pro shop, but the members in the bar gave us the relevant information and guided us to the first tee. The fairways were in good condition but the greens had been hollow tined and sanded making them a little unpredictable. Need more signage to find the 9th tee from the 8th green. When we went into the clubhouse for a drink, the members (different ones from earlier) asked how we found the course and if we enjoyed the round. Great value for £15 on a Saturday afternoon. Will play again when the greens are back to normal.

Really friendly - nice course

Our first time here so didn’t know quite what to expect.

We were met by a really lovely lady who I think may have been the ladies captain. She talked us through the course etc and was so friendly.

The course was in good condition given the time of year and we thoroughly enjoyed it

We were held up for the first 6 or 7 holes by a group of seniors - hope that I am still golfing at 90 years old - they disappeared after the 7th and then it was plain sailing

We will definitely return

Great little golf course!

First time playing Stone golf course, but it won't be the last. Although it's only a 9 hole golf course you can play 18 from different tees, and the back 9 off the different tees really do make a difference, giving you different angles and views to think about on each new tee. Definitely will be playing again soon!

Windy weather

Good knock had at Stone

Course in really good nick, helps when you play well but for me this is a cracker of a course which surprisingly never seems overly busy. It's a nine holer which isn't everyone's cup of tea but it's a peaceful place to play has enough tests both off the team and approaches to the greens.

Great course

A really nice course, well maintained, will definitely play again. my only issue is that when i first arrived there were no reception staff as a point of contact. Luckily there were a few club members on site which were very friendly and helpful.

Far better than Stafford Castle.

Brilliant hidden little Gem. Do not bother getting ripped off at the castle in Stafford. Play this instead it’s amazing. Cheaper & better. Very friendly unlike the castle which is colicky & rude.

Nice But ...

Played Stone. Course was in fantastic condition. (But should be due to time of year and weather) hardly any divits throughout the course, which was fantastic to see. Greens great. All staff and members welcoming. Well done Stone.

BUT .... For me with it been 9, it felt tight and rushed and most tee boxes are not level. You can't really hit a good shot on some holes, as it slops across you're shot. I prefer a course with water and features more mature trees, more wildlife. I guess that's just a personal choice. Saying that, I would play there again, it's just not got the wow factor like some others.

Quality

My first time playing on this course. The fairways were excellent and forgiving.

The greens were well maintained.

Overall, a friendly place place to go and have a game of golf.

Considering the bad weather and rain I found the course in great condition, well done to the green keeper and course staff.
