Half decent
It’s ok for what it is, doesn’t take water very well and for £25 on a twilight isn’t really vfm. Greens were in reasonably good condition but nothing to write home about. Pretty average all round but will probs play again.
Anyone wishing to play a course that feels a bit different than Barlaston is a good test of club section. Not the longest course but nice and relaxed. The course can get busy but that's down to the efforts to improve the course over the past 5 years and the reasonable green fees.
Greens are really good at the minute and run true.
Disappointing late summer knock
The were many negative issues to what is usually a good venue with challenging holes.
The price was expensive and didn’t reflect the quality of the course when we played. The fairways were bare and seemingly still being cut. The greens were bone hard and showed little sign of being looked after / watered.
The worst thing was the seemingly lack of thought with regard to bookings and the sheer quantity of players on the course.
As stated, it’s usually a good place but I will not be returning any time soon, especially if it remains dry.
Great Layout
The course was in really good condition, in particular the greens. The course is challenging without being too difficult. The only downside was the geese and the mess they made on some fairways
Great course.
Played here many times over the years, challenging course, not too hilly, well maintained, greens, fairways, improving each time I visit, keep up the good work ! See you soon .
Pace of play
Had a 4 ball loose 7 holes to the group in front.
The 4 ball had buggies and we only found out after the round were playing team and individual Stableford.
Took 3 and 1/2 hours to play 13 holes.
Were waiting on every shot
This takes nothing away from a fantastic course with excellent greens.
Fantastic otherwise
Great days golf shame we couldn’t get a drink
Having been a member at Barlaston twenty odd years ago I was astonished by the transformation of the course ,
It always had great potential, but the work that has been done to open up the course over the years is staggering and a huge credit to all those involved in the planning and maintenance of the course (the greens were immaculate)
A real shame that 4 hours in the baking heat at 6 o clock
that the bar staff wouldn’t serve us a much anticipated cold pint is ( closing because it was quiet ) 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
A tough course in great condition
What a lovely golf course.
First time that I have ever played here and I was very impressed.
The course is difficult with some tight fairways and lots of trees! The rough is very rough … bring a few balls.
We met the lady captain on the way round and last years … - very friendly.
We will return if they let us !
100% recommended playing this course
Brilliant course for how you pay for a round, best value for money around, staff are really friendly too.
Round on the 23rd
Good greens and directions
Well laid hour holes
Difficult mixed with easy
Appeals to broad range of players
Lack of facilities on arrival
0748 tee off
No toilets
No pr shop
No cards
No club official at all
Without a mobile app it would have been difficult.
If I pay £25 per person and tee off after 0730
I would have expected someone to be there
Or at the very least cards in the box on the pro shop wall.
Fantastic
Loved the whole experience, shot my best score ever of 92, 26 handicapper. Course/Greens impeccable.
Certainly coming back, hours drive.
