Golfer Reviews
Overall experience
We are members at bury golf cause so I think allsaints is very expensive on weekends considering the state of the cause
Over hated course
I played yesterday - I’ve seen lots of reviews saying it’s awful. Me and a few others played for £30 and honestly it’s worth the price. It’s not great by any means, the tee boxes are a 2/10 - greens are about 6/10 which isn’t too bad. It’s a very difficult course with lots of water hazards and can be confusing a first time round but can be enjoyable and was overall pleasantly surprised given the current conditions. A 5/10 course definitely over hated. Would play again
Worst course I’ve ever seen
Worst course I think I’ve ever played. The ‘ greens ‘ are full of holes and cracks and barely playable. Course layout is confusing. Tee boxes are just dirt. Putting green was brown and looked abandoned. Just generally a shocking course.
Golf day
Had a great day out great venue. Could have done with hole numbers on flags. Got confused a few times especially hole numbers 12.
Plenty of Potential, But Missing the Basics
This course has plenty of potential, but right now it’s a 6/10 for me.
If you’re charging £30–£40 a round, the basics need to be there. There are no ball cleaners and no bins on the course, which feels poor at that price point. Small details like these make a big difference to the overall experience.
Another issue is the lack of integration with major golf apps. It’s 2026 – golfers expect to be able to track rounds, scores, and GPS through the apps they already use. Being absent from many of these platforms makes the course feel behind the times.
The layout has potential, but a few improvements are needed before the green fee feels fully justified.
Could be so much better

New Layout promising but golf course condition poor
I know Suffolk Golf Course has very recently adjusted and changed the overall layout of the course, changing the flow of holes and direction (Tee-to-Greens) of some holes. They have also introduced a few new greens and tee-boxes. In my opinion both these new greens and tee boxes should not yet be in play neither are established and doesn't appear any of them are being cared for (e.g. watering and no general maintenance) since being introduced. If they start taking care and begin giving some much needed regular maintenance to both these Greens and Tee Boxes to ensure they become established the course could be great and will match the standard of the hotel and facilities available. I feel if they continue to ignore the maintenance of the golf course it will never reach the potential it can achieve and therfore currently the 18 hole green fee is not justified.
Good course for a challenge
Fornham always offers a challenge and with the new work going on it looks like a great new layout. Staff in the bar always very friendly. Good value course and good time had.
Well kept course
Although in transition on some parts of the course, it was in excellent condition
Not memorable
Condition fairly poor. Good layout and long holes. Lack of yardage markers and general signage to holes made I’d more difficult.
Poor condition
The tee boxes and greens are really scruffy and poorly maintained. It looks like some new tee boxes are being built, but it was disappointing, especially if paying £40. There are much better alternatives.
Winter game.
Lots of work going on around the course and water logged in places. All greens in play and in good condition for this time of year. A few temporary tees but did not spoil our enjoyment of the course. First time playing at the course but will bet returning in the better weather.
2nd times playing
After playing this course approximately 5 months ago I was really sceptical about giving this course another go, especially due to the terrible course conditions. But my friend who was new to golf really wanted to play so here we are. I have to say the course conditions were alot better then the last time playing this course, the layout of the course is still crazy because you cross multiple fairways to get to the next tee box. Would I recommend this course? To a beginner who wants to get game time, yes. But to the average golfer that has played for a while or is a low handicap then the answer would be no especially not for the price, unless you get it on a good deal.
Overpriced
The course was in very poor condition with some of the greens unplayable. Also the layout isn’t well thought out at all with quite a few walks to the next tee crossing over a fairway or right next to the last green. The price they are charging for a round is way too much it needs to be at least half where it is now
Aweful! Avoid this course
This course is by far the worst course I have ever played and for £40 it was an absolute rip off!
The course layout makes it very confusing as to where you are going on each hole. No course map on tee boxes add to the confusion.
The condition of the tee boxes was a joke! The condition of the greens were equally aweful. This was the height of summer and the course was just aweful.
There is ALOT of water hazards on this course and not 1 red stake on the whole course!
I would have been disappointed at the conditions of this course even if the round was £20
So bad, please avoid!
In poor condition
The course is in terrible condition, greens are patchy lumpy and not playable, tee boxes are dirt and again in poor condition, fairways had grass cuttings all over, it was fairways and rough no in between. Very disappointing considering the cost for a round.
Worked needed
Renovations taking place but greens were terrible in places
Poor course layout
Course lay out was really hard to follow, no tee boxes just a laminated bit of paper with an arrow pointing in the rough direction for the tee. I was playing with others who haven't played and we all got very confused. I think it was the 3rd, 13th and 17th and then the 4th and 16th tee boxes could very easily get confused. And then my Garmin golf and the grint app scorecard didn't match the scorecard given.
Easy fix to these issue would be tee boxes for the corresponding tee, update golf apps to new course as I believe Garmin golf and the grint thought the 16th hole was a par 5 when the scorecard said it was a par 4 this was the same for the a few holes. And last but not lease a very simple map of the holes layout on the scorecard.
Other then that most of the fairways and greens were in good condition
