Poor flexibility when asking to reschedule due to Met Oofice weather warnings
I’ve been running a golf society for nearly 15 years and have occasionally needed to reschedule due to adverse weather. Never have I encountered such poor customer service, lack of flexibility, and unwillingness to compromise as I did with Thornbury Golf Club.
With Met Office severe weather warnings in place and a significant journey ahead—including necessary diversions due to Severn Bridge closures—we made the reasonable decision to cancel and requested to move our society day to a later date. However, the club refused to accommodate this and insisted on keeping our £120 deposit.
Given their rigid stance and lack of understanding, we will not be returning, and I would advise others to look elsewhere.
