Cold Spring Country Club
About
Cold Spring Country Club is situated halfway between Springfield and Worcester. Opened in 2010 in an effort to bring world class golf to western Massachusetts, the club has since garnered a local following. The par-71 layout is unique in that it has six par 3s and five par 5s. There are also some par 4s in the 450-yard range. The 6,521-yard length indicated on the scorecard can be deceiving since it feels much longer when you're playing it. The golf course has plenty of variety, including dogleg lefts, doglegs rights, short holes, and long holes. Thanks to its mountaintop locale, Cold Spring C.C. offers stunning views that are as diverse as the holes. The vistas from the elevated tees and greens stretch to the Berkshires, Connecticut, and Vermont. From the golf course's highest tee box on the par-3 10th, you'll have a panoramic view of central Massachusetts.

The scenery is spectacularly panoramic at several of the Cold Spring tees and greens. This is the first hole, a par-three. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

A terrific par-5 of 490, the second demands good shotmaking to find this green safely. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

The long tenth, a par-4, features an offset fairway and a tough approach to an elevated green site. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

A long par-5, eleven features strong ground movement from tee to green. A beautiful and challenging hole. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

Although modern, the course maintains a natural feel. Secluded, too, on some holes, such as the sixteenth. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

Great conditions and fun course
Grateful they allowed us to slip in after an issue with our GPS made us late for the tee time.. The course was understandably busy but moving along on a perfect weather day. We did have a few minutes wait for each tee, but the pace was fair no one was wasting time hacking around or searching for extra balls. The course is very open with the challenge being which tee you choose. I played the golds which were only 10 yards back from most reds, but I probably wouldn’t have done as well from the whites. It’s a rather short course but it was a good choice for my first 18-hole round this year. Most of the tees, fairways and greens were in great shape. Amazing to see white sand bunkers (I’m from New Hampshire). Most of the cart paths were paved and well maintained and ran though shady parts, giving you a chance to cool off a little between holes. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is we tried calling the restaurant for a pickup snack when we were on the 8th hole and no one answered. It wasn’t clear if the restaurant was open or not although we could see people sitting on the upper terrace (and there was a sign on the 8th with the number to call). We decided to keep going and found a place to eat after we left. Overall, we were very happy with the round and course conditions. We are both average players. This course was a great fit for us.
Fun and challenging
This being my first time playing this golf course, I have to say I was most pleased with the course layout as well as the challenges the course had. Depending on where a player hit the ball, we found the ball either above or below our feet which always puts another difficulty to the game. The layout of the course within all the trees was awesome to experience! Really enjoyed the serenity and quiet of the course. This may have something to do with our tee time as we were the third group out. My son and I will definitely play this course again!
Great course, enjoyable to play.
The course was in great shape. Will return again. Cart is recommended.
Good day of golf
Course was great. I would definitely recommend this course. I would however NOT recommend Golfnow. I had a change to my reservation and the link would not connect me and the phone number that was listed has an automated service saying you cannot talk to a human being because of Covid. Therefore I couldn’t change my reservation with course because I booked it through Golfnow. I’m out $47.00 because my buddy couldn’t play and I tried to change reservation 72 hours in advance. I have since DELETED the Golfnow app from my phone.
The course is challenging
We had a great time, this course is very well maintained, the greeen are smooth and fast.
Golf with Sam and Adam
Great day , this is my second time at this course and definitely will return many more time this year ..
Easy to score
Bunch of par 3s and 5s, couple of difficult holes. Pace of play was ridiculously slow with a group of seasoned gents in front of us.
Cold Springs review
I love the course and the people are wonderful. The Pro and greens people are fantastic. They do a GREAT job.
Great course
Great course. Great pace of play and very friendly staff.
Good time to go
Was beautiful this time of year. They did have some areas ground being redone. And unfortunately the restaurant\food service was closed.
Pace of play
I am not a pro by any means but I am around a 14 handicap and I need to get into a rhythm in order to play well. The few times I have been to this course after work during the week it has been full of people that either do not golf or take the game with zero seriousness. I am not saying people can not have fun and everyone starts somewhere but when you are on the course with beach shorts and a tee shirts or a hoodie and jeans then you are already off to a poor start ( I thought there was a dress code at all courses) but to top it all off shotgunning beers at every tee box just make for a long day for everyone. Otherwise again great personal that work at the course and the course looks and plays great. Thanks again and see you soon! .
I love this course and it’s staff!!!
I love playing this course!!!! From the second you drive in the driveway you are greeted with beauty and kindness. I have played this course now 5 different times this year and each time I was paired with a great group of people to gold with. The pro shop and personal that work there is great to talk to and extremely nice. I can’t wait to start enjoying food before or after my round in the next weeks to come. If I had 1 negative thing to say about this course currently ( and it was hard to find one) I would have to say a couple tee boxes could have been fixed and the carts could use updating( which I hear was in the works). Again I can’t say enough about this great course and the people that keep it that way....THANK YOU AND SEE YOU AGAIN SOON
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Cold Spring Country Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
