Cold Spring Country Club
About
Cold Spring Country Club is situated halfway between Springfield and Worcester. Opened in 2010 in an effort to bring world class golf to western Massachusetts, the club has since garnered a local following. The par-71 layout is unique in that it has six par 3s and five par 5s. There are also some par 4s in the 450-yard range. The 6,521-yard length indicated on the scorecard can be deceiving since it feels much longer when you're playing it. The golf course has plenty of variety, including dogleg lefts, doglegs rights, short holes, and long holes. Thanks to its mountaintop locale, Cold Spring C.C. offers stunning views that are as diverse as the holes. The vistas from the elevated tees and greens stretch to the Berkshires, Connecticut, and Vermont. From the golf course's highest tee box on the par-3 10th, you'll have a panoramic view of central Massachusetts.

The scenery is spectacularly panoramic at several of the Cold Spring tees and greens. This is the first hole, a par-three. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

A terrific par-5 of 490, the second demands good shotmaking to find this green safely. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

The long tenth, a par-4, features an offset fairway and a tough approach to an elevated green site. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

A long par-5, eleven features strong ground movement from tee to green. A beautiful and challenging hole. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

Although modern, the course maintains a natural feel. Secluded, too, on some holes, such as the sixteenth. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

Beautiful bent Grass
The bent grass fairways and greens are great never a bad lie.
Every hole is very different and depending on the TEE select this track will give you all you want .The greens are fast but true due to their great condition ,best to be below the hole.
The pro and his satff are always very friendly and helpful as a standard pratice they come out to your vehicle and pick up your clubs!!
Poor conditions
Conditions were poor on this already marginal layout no signs anywhere to direct you. Wrong hole signs on holes!! This place needs TLC!!!
Great course
This is a wonderful course, great staff, easily accessible, great 19th hole restaurant. My sons favorite course!
Blah, I guess
Greens are nice. Bunkers are exceptional. Fairways are average. Rough is horrible. Tee boxes are the worst in Western mass. They used to take care of this place better. There are a lot of great holes on this course but there are a few weird ones that I never liked.
This year's rain, expected better conditions
I have played this course multiple times over the years. The fairways are average, I expected them to be in nicer condition especially after all the rain we have had this past spring and summer. The pace of play was slow, sometimes having to wait 5-10 minutes between shots. The greens are nice and rolling true. The bunkers are very nice crushed marble.
It has 5 par 3's and a par4 thats 185yards up hill 60 ft. in elevation .
It's a different type of layout but enjoyable to play. You don't get bored.
Awesome views.... awesome course
Definitely head over to Belchertown for this gem of a course. Plenty of elevation changes make for very exciting tee shots. There is a nice variety of tight shots as well as wide open "bomb away" holes. The par 3 holes can be very challenging from the back tees. Long and well protected. The bunkers have a really nice white sand in them. Very easy to play out of... which is good because they are deep and strategically located to collect your approach shots that don't carry the elevations of the greens. Loved it.
Nice greens
I played this course the day after some heavy rain hit the area. I was anticipating very soggy conditions and slow greens. I was shocked at how well this course rebounded from this, and how fast the greens were. Very pretty course, challenging layout, and nice view on the patio after your round.
Safari club
Fairly difficult, hard greens but smooth.. Great staff and food is good. Lot of poison ivy. Needs to mature imo, but getting there.
Interesting Course, Very good condition.
Played here last week with the Safari Club. Overall, a nice experience. Fairways and greens were in very nice condition. Some tee boxes were a little rough, because it doesn't appear that sprinkler system reaches them. Staff was very accommodating, and pace of play was very good. Would definitely play again.
Loved the course a lot of hills very challenging.
Will play there again.
Has Unmet Potential
Tee boxes terrible!
Many Fairways have thin grass & hard as rocks. Difficult to take divots.
Greens in overall good shape but some like cement.
Nice layout with potential to be very nice course BUT needs work.
This is one of my favorite courses to play
Played there with our group the Safari Club the course was in great shape. The People were very nice and treated us great. We are looking forward to playing there again soon.
A Safari Club Favorite!
Great track, with terrific views and a good variety of holes. The Pro and his staff do everything to make your experience top shelf. Don't forget to stop at the 19th hole too.
