Cold Spring Country Club
About
Cold Spring Country Club is situated halfway between Springfield and Worcester. Opened in 2010 in an effort to bring world class golf to western Massachusetts, the club has since garnered a local following. The par-71 layout is unique in that it has six par 3s and five par 5s. There are also some par 4s in the 450-yard range. The 6,521-yard length indicated on the scorecard can be deceiving since it feels much longer when you're playing it. The golf course has plenty of variety, including dogleg lefts, doglegs rights, short holes, and long holes. Thanks to its mountaintop locale, Cold Spring C.C. offers stunning views that are as diverse as the holes. The vistas from the elevated tees and greens stretch to the Berkshires, Connecticut, and Vermont. From the golf course's highest tee box on the par-3 10th, you'll have a panoramic view of central Massachusetts.

A terrific par-5 of 490, the second demands good shotmaking to find this green safely. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

A long par-5, eleven features strong ground movement from tee to green. A beautiful and challenging hole. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

Although modern, the course maintains a natural feel. Secluded, too, on some holes, such as the sixteenth. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

Cold Springs, Belchertown, MA
I played Cold Springs Country Club in Belchertown, MA with the "Safari Club" and it was great. The course was not to long but challenging enough to make it a great time. The course was in great shape. The fairways were in good shape and the greens and bunkers were in perfect condition.
Food was also excellent and very reasonably priced. I will go back again.
Safari Adventure
Courses well maintained and greens quick end fast...with six par threes the course backs up but this is a known fact. Enjoyable time.
Not in it's usual condition
The tee boxes were beaten up and the greens were a little furry. Nevertheless, for $41 on a Sunday, this was a great deal and the layout of this course is the best in Hampshire county.
Nice Course
Played last Thursday with the Safari Club. Course was in excellent shape. Greens were running true. Relatively short but challenging course with great views from clubhouse and first tee. Staff was extremely accommodating to all our needs, considering we had such a large group. I would highly recommend.
Not in as good as shape
Played Cold Spring last year and it was in excellent shape. Brought my dad there this year for Father's Day and likely will not be back in near future. Course is pretty well burnt up except for the greens. Rough is patchy at best and mostly dust. Greens were slower than last year by far. Round took over 5 hours playing before 9 which is ridiculous. No rangers on the course to keep people moving which resulted in lots of waiting around.
Staff was great. Food was good after round. Views from course are amazing. Overall was an ok day.
Great day of Gol with Safari Club
Last week myself and the Safari Club played 18 holes of golf. The course was in excellent shape. The staff was super and we had a great time. Our club had 41 birdies and the front and 6 on the back 9. The greens were not as fast as the practice green. The par 3 were very changeling and we had a great day.
Great Golf day
A safari trip to a familiar course which we come back to every year and no disappointments,Great conditions and the the buffet was great after the round
A Safari Club Favorite!
This is a spectacular golf course! It is fun to play and the vistas are just beautiful. The holes are challenging especially holes # 10 and #18! The course is in phenomenal shape from fairways to greens. A must on anyone's golf list. These are just some of the reasons The Safari Club continues to come back every year.
June 15th i played Cold Springs with the Safari Golf Association
The course was in good condition , the greens were like putting on glass.
This is a challenging course course and in my opinion fun to play, so many different holes to play
Will be back to play it again
The staff was very helpful in every way possible, by the way the food was good to.
Course has some interesting holes.
Recently (6/15) played the course with the Safari Club. Course in acceptable condition but needs more watering (starting to dry out some).
Awesome!
The Safari Club hit another home run when it's cast of over 130 players landed here to play on a beautiful Chamber of Commerce type day in mid June.
Fairways were in perfect shape and the greens were among the very best we have played. But that's just the golf course!
The clubhouse is one of a kind. Perched high up on a hill with southeasterly views into the central Connecticut hills, one couldn't ask for a better viewing opportunity to enjoy a good meal.
The staff is top notch and they will give you the feeling you're at an exclusive private golf course. Wherever one travels from, this is a destination type golf course that is really worth the effort of getting there.
Fun round
First time playing the course. Course was in good condition and the greens were great. Lots up uphill shots and doglegs which add to the challenge for a relatively short course (from the white tees). I would definitely recommend and I hope to play here again.
Rural Gem
Forget about your score(if you can) and just enjoy the scenery. If you are concerned about your score,,,,,enjoy the scenery! Cold Spring is a scenic track, with wide sloping fairways and breathtaking scenery. The large contoured greens were immaculate and putted true. The Fairways are in midseason shape and firm. Par 3's vary from a short 75 yards to 254 yds. If you like bunkers, there are plenty of them with fine white sand.
Again, I played with my 100+ friends from the Safari Club of Golf, and again, the staff was courteous and eager to please. I highly recommend this rural track, a scenic ride from the Mass Pike on rte 21, and close to rte 202.
Safari outing
Cold Springs is a beautiful course with challenging holes that make you want to come back. The greens were in great shape. The scenery is always spectacular. Gazing out on some of the holes is breathtaking. Be ready to hit up to some steep holes, but it makes for an interesting day. Staff was awesome!
Safari Club event
The course was in top condition. The Course challenging? Just right for me. The greens were hard to read, but that's not bad. Great day on the links close to home.
Safari Club Outing
Very good layout. Some T-box's are Kind of rough, but most are good. Greens were a bit slow. Many changing holes. Will play it again for sure. We did see a fox.
Nice course, nice people!
The course conditions have always lived up to our expectations. I've played here a number of times and have never complained about that. The layout is a bit tricky/odd, but the conditions and professionalism of the staff should grow on you enough to overlook the funky layout.
Pro-shop is stocked with anything you may need with quality products. I often find I want to add to my golf attire while I'm there.
Food in the clubhouse is solid for an after-round meal or even stopping by for dinner. Calamari and wings are my go-to after 18 holes!
Always a Good Choice
I've played here several times and always enjoyed it. Greens a bit slower than past visits, but overall condition was fine. You need to keep balls in play as there are thick woods to the side and behind many holes. Great deal on Golf Now.
Worth the money to play and very comparable if not exceed the ranch
Out of all the courses I've played in western Mass, Cold Springs is by far the top two courses I love playing. The course has many character holes like number 1 and 2 that may tell you how your found will be. It's not an easy course to walk on and say you will shoot an 84 on. You really have to manage it. I played from the black tee's all the time there and I love the view especially number 1 and 10. I would rate cold springs better than the ranch. There are only some little things like not having a starter or an attendant waiting at bag drop of that makes it not feel like a true country club. Other than that, it's pretty much a country club at public prices. I really hope they continue to improve the standard of the club and course to attract professional golfers at some point. I think it's that good of a course for sure.
Bent grass fairways always a good lie
When you play this course you must think about the shot in front of you it's not always a driver in hand on a par five many well placed shots will pay dividends. The greens are a little firm so approach shots also a thought process when seledting a club.
Overall a fun track that players from every level will enjoy!
