Cold Spring Country Club
About
Cold Spring Country Club is situated halfway between Springfield and Worcester. Opened in 2010 in an effort to bring world class golf to western Massachusetts, the club has since garnered a local following. The par-71 layout is unique in that it has six par 3s and five par 5s. There are also some par 4s in the 450-yard range. The 6,521-yard length indicated on the scorecard can be deceiving since it feels much longer when you're playing it. The golf course has plenty of variety, including dogleg lefts, doglegs rights, short holes, and long holes. Thanks to its mountaintop locale, Cold Spring C.C. offers stunning views that are as diverse as the holes. The vistas from the elevated tees and greens stretch to the Berkshires, Connecticut, and Vermont. From the golf course's highest tee box on the par-3 10th, you'll have a panoramic view of central Massachusetts.

The scenery is spectacularly panoramic at several of the Cold Spring tees and greens. This is the first hole, a par-three. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

A terrific par-5 of 490, the second demands good shotmaking to find this green safely. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

The long tenth, a par-4, features an offset fairway and a tough approach to an elevated green site. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

A long par-5, eleven features strong ground movement from tee to green. A beautiful and challenging hole. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

Although modern, the course maintains a natural feel. Secluded, too, on some holes, such as the sixteenth. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

A Course worth playing
Recently played the course with the Safari Club and had a good time. Course was in good condition with several interesting holes to test all golfers. As usual the staff from pro shop to the kitchen were friendly and accommodating.
Safari golf
Even though it had rained many days before our outing, the course was pretty well drained. There were only a few holes that had standing water. The greens were good and fair. The holes all vary in their layout, and the really steep uphill ones provide an excellent challenge. The staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant was ready for the large group and did everything to make our time there enjoyable.
June 7th Safari outing
The Safari club played today the weather was great .
The course was in good shape considering all the rain we have had.
The Pro and his staff couldn't have been more professional, they all went out of their way to make our day perfect.
The pub and kitchen staff did a great job! very much improved over our last visit where they were short staffed and the selection of food offerings was limited.
Overall a great track at a fair price!!
Safari Club Outing
Good time as always with the Safari Club. Cold Springs is a very good host. The greens are very good, and hard to read. The bunkers were easy to get out of. ( for me anyway). But the fairways were not as good as they could be. Many small grass-less spots on most of them. Other then that everything was pretty darn good.
Nice course with views.
Pace VERY slow. Too many twosomes and singles. Players would get bunched up behind foursomes. Club should pair groups to foursomes. No ranger to move slow groups along faster. Limited water available and no cart service. Terrain is challenging. Many side hill lies. Narrow fairways with trees. Beautiful scenery.
Love this place
I get to play Cold Spring a couple times a year and this most recent round produced some of the best conditions I've played in at Cold Spring. What is not to like about this course? Beautiful greens. Challenging lay out. While some area courses are traditional and somewhat boring, this is a fun, exciting track. Elevation changes, unique holes, GREAT views of the are..... plus when the conditions are perfect like they are right now, it's one of the best values around. I would go so far as to say this is a must play for any golfer in the area, at some point this Spring/Early Summer while conditions are peak.
Once was nice
This course use to be amazing...but now it has ok greens, the fairways and dryer than ever with weeds and burnt grass in a lot of areas and the tee boxes had more sand and divots than flat areas with grass to hit from. I once loved this course but I won't go back unless someone pays me to play. It's too bad.
Fun course
This course doesn't beat you up. Very scenic and fun with a good mix of holes. A few " funky", but overall good value for the money. Not yet in top condition, but it's early in the year.
Course conditions were very good. Service staff excellent certainly will be back for many rounds with friends
Great time
The course was in great shape and fun to play. The staff was also great, down to earth and pleasant to deal.
Good day of golf
Good course and value. Greens are firm and tough to hold at times. Course layout is a good test of all shots...one of a few courses I've played where I used all clubs in the bag. Very hilly with severe elevations at times. Would be a tough walk but we had carts.
Overall a very good course with good conditions and excellent staff.
Early Season, Great Starter
The course was in decent shape for this early in the season. The tees could use some work and the greens were a little firm but it was expected in April. I played this course several times last year throughout the summer and I am sure it will be back to those standards in no time at all. The starter Mr. Rogers was great. He greeted us at the car and had us all set up for our round. It was a great experience. We will definitely be back and at 30.00 with cart through golf now you cannot beat the value.
Great Golf Great Day
My experience at Cold Springs was great from arrival to departure. The staff was very welcoming and helpful to me to link me up with the threesome I was playing with.
The course conditions were in great shape, especially for November. The greens had been aereated but about 3 weeks ago so the greens were in good shape and fairly true. The grounds staff had eliminated 90% of leaf debris on fairways and greens. With so many trying to take advantage of great golf weather, Sunny, calm and 60s the pace of play slowed down at the end but even with a noon start we finished before sunset,
I found the course enjoyable to play and fairly challenging but a lot of fun and would recommend it to friends to play.
cold spring
The course was in very good condition. Greens were excellent, fairways a little burnt out from drought. I would recommend the course to my golfing friends. The staff were friendly and helpful at the course.
Fun scenic track to golf
Fun and scenic track to play. Some visually challenging tee shots. Elevation changes and spread out course layout. The 9's have been flipped so you start on a long downhill par 3. A new young course that is sure to grow in and mature to be an enjoyable place to play again!
Very good Western Mass course.
Played with a couple of members and we played in 3 1/2 hours without rushing. Spent the most time looking for mishits off the fairway...leaves. Course and greens were in wonderful shape for this time of year. Nice variety of short and long holes. Suitable for all levels of players.
Pace of Play
Played the course on Oct 9 and have played here several times in the past. The course was in good condition for the amount of play that it receives. The problem of the day was the pace of play, not good at all. Doesn't make any sense to have two sets of twosomes in front of us and then two sets of twosomes behind us. A lot of agrevated golfers. Why not put the the twosomes together to make a foursome. Poor planning by the pro shop...
